Memphis is a 6 hour drive. I've made it a little bit quicker but not much.

Why? This whole thing has become a joke. Rather than them get pissed off for being left in the dark on who their coach is, they joke like many of us do in rough times. I don't blame them for trying to find some humor in this situation.

I'm not "in the know" enough to put a timeline out there but I've stated several times that I'm 100% sure it's Gruden. Unless a damn meteor hits him on the way to the podium it's Gruden. I know I don't post a bunch on these forums but I read daily and have been coming here and been a registered VN member since 2004. And the only thing I can do to try to lend some credibility and reassure some of you guys is something I stated here first last night:

If Jon Gruden isn't named the next head coach at the University of Tennessee I will never post on the VN again and retire as an active member. That's the best I can do to put anything on the line on a message board guys. Just believe me.......it's Gruden - it's really happening!

OK.....Been lurking all the way back to Gruden 2, posted a few times, nothing to add. I can honestly say this has been very enjoyable, better than a good book. I have had bets with my sons, talked for hours about it with my wife(she doesn't have the same "enthusiasm" as I do), and usually check hourly,when available. I have spent more time on here the past month than I care to say.....

With all that said, I must admit, I am REALLY starting to wonder if I am indeed living in a "Fantasy World". If I look for something long enough, do I start to rationalize it? When I start explaining the conspiracy theories(friends laughed at the terms being used, OG's, Grudenites, sticky bananas, etc....) and I begin to wonder if I am losing grip with reality. Is any of this real??? Is it just our imaginations running wild with thoughts of FINALLY getting something positive for our university(I did go to school there). Are we more intrigued by the "chase", wanting to get the coach that EVERYONE wants, just to say, I TOLD YOU SO? Please, I want to believe, but am starting to wonder if we are still Tennessee, or are we truly at the point that Louisville's coach turned us down for $4,000,000.........Someone talk me away from the ledge.
