I want Gruden as much as anyone, but the insinuations and assumptions don't prove anything.

100% on board wanting him, just not in my perceived spectrum of reality the chances of getting him but the door is not closed until we make a hire. Strong 100% was offered, if not there was nothing to turn down. He part of the smokescreen too? One truly just has to suspend all disbelief and reason to think this is all a master plan, not in my DNA.

Cheek put out an email earlier this week stating that UT needs the football program to get back to greatness, for the good of the entire university. Why?

The thing is everyone is running with the idea we gave Strong and Gundy a formal offer, yet what we could have done is just gain their interest as backup plans. We could have easily said "we'll give you $x, what do you think?". It also could have been the AD's job to see who they could hire then they would go back to BOT and lay out their cards along with Gruden from the boosters. Then they make a formal decision.

I think this has to happen today...the AD and Gruden will not want to let all of this mocking of UT happen too long...hopefully.

I know a girl that is a HUGE Bama fan and last night I asked her if Bama fans were laughing at our coaching situation?

I noticed Skeeter said the ADs office was mad at a group of boosters. He said/implied that they had something to do with Strong turning us down.

This is a fact.

I was at a networking function last night in ATL - the buzz was Arkansas hire.... the joke was Tennessee. Even the Vandy fans were in on the laugh. It was embarrassing.


Though... a splash hire completely erases it. See Arkansas.

I was out on the street and ran into Coach Jon Gruden. I told him about Alabama, and their great coach. He just laughed and said, "yeah..good team. I like their coach too. What's her name again?"

I'm in the ATL as well and I dread it when anyone comes by my office. I can confirm that UGA fans are having a field day at our expense

I guess we will agree to disagree. I don't think that wold be that bad. We need to get UT blood back in there instead of being run by a Bammer and having a coach that wanted nothing but Cali and another that destroyed recruiting in the state of TN. Fulmer would be ok if he could bring Chief with him.
Also most of this (my feelings) comes from the utter (national) embarrassment yesterday of our program.
Flame away everyone.
