Maybe...just maybe. Gruden spoke to him about asst. position, OC position. You don't find it strange Gruden's roomate from Tennessee resigns one night and then the next day reports that the guy he shared an office with at his next college coaching job is rumored to be interested in coming here. They only report what they hear.

I'm speculating. This thing is just lining up too much like everybody said.

Wes Rucker telling listeners at the top of his show that he pretty much isn't going to mention Gruden today is not a way to keep said listeners. A lot of people want Gruden banter, myself included.

I agree. I have it on TSR all day long. Today, when I heard him say that, I finally bit the bullet and turned them off. He's even starting to rub off on Swain a little bit.

Can't believe I'm listening to Hyams, but he is easier to take than Rucker right now.

Because you assume that most here share in your distaste of him...and your opinion is about as valid as anyone else...so they can listen to him if they choose.

Why Wes hates the idea of Gruden (my theory):

- Wes relies on hack small time coaches like Doolz to provide his sources/take him seriously as a real beat reporter

- Any coach who has coached in a big market/big school previously would be like "who is this clown" and give that guy nothing, as would a professional staff as anyone who interacts with him can attest that he is a d**che

- Therefore, big name coach = Wes on the outside looking in.

Boomer_Vol did say that Yay4Bray was right, but his 24 hour prediction was premature which makes since with the Awards Ceremony tonight.

So we couldn't announce becaue of the HOF thing, we couldn't announce on a Bball gameday, now we can't announce because of some awards thing.

There is always something going on. They are not postponing announcements because of these events. That isn't even on their radar.

If somebody was hired, it would be announced ASAP.

I'm still on the Gruden train, but wouldn't be all that disappointed with somebody like Shaw from Stanford. He isn't getting paid a ton and I think he could win in the SEC.

This x1000. Other than Gruden, he is about the only other name that I would be real excited about. Don't know his pay, but I guarantee we can almost double it. He plays sound football and can recruit, even in the South. Stanford is getting guys from all over the South. He was in the Harbaugh coaching tree. Wish we would call. What does it matter if we get turned down for the 50th time?

Last night someone on here said that Gruden called and left Grider a voicemail saying to ignore everything youre hearing in the media and that its still on and that we're assembling one of the best staffs college football has ever seen...
