Dayum I’ve been all in on gruden with some skepticism “see it when I believe it”. But I’m so drained from the waiting & all these different leaks to support or negate gruden. Let’s get this announced !!! That being said
GRUDEN SOON
Welcome aboard the White Whale Train! Gruden 4 shore!:superman:

I am a long time lurker in this thread. I have spent a lifetime sizing my shoes with my tonsils so that is why I don't post. I sincerely appreciate all the input here, but like stated earlier, you have to make up your own mind as to who you believe to be a legitimate insider.

I'm just asking why I was the only one who thought the wording of this tweet was not your typical coaching search talk. The talk of the AD assembling a coaching staff? Usually, the talk is about the HC position, not his entire staff being assembled. I still choose to believe that JG is the guy and fulmer is talking to potential assistants.

So it's not good enough to want Gruden? Folks must kneel before the bs peddlers to be welcomed here? We all have a right to believe who and what we want; I choose to believe that beaver's schtick is tired and nothing but attention seeking bs. I've been here since the first fishing expedition and will continue to be here.
I didn't tell you or anyone who or what to believe. Fawking stop telling me who and what I can.

Seriously?

I don't think any of the boosters are in that role right now. They didn't go through all of this just to hand veto to another kingmaker. I think they want the professionals in charge to run with this.

They may influence, but I don't see any iron fists in this group.

That is truly the best news.

In another thread, ran into a guy who believed it was impossible Gruden signed any MOU a week ago, since only the University provides MOUs. Heh. Showed him the error of his ways by drafting up part (just the first few paragraphs) of an MOU myself, in about 20 minutes.

Thought the community here my enjoy how that looked. So, here goes:

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between The University of Tennessee (the University) and Jon M.F. Gruden (Coach) records the understanding of the parties as to the principal terms and conditions under which Coach will be employed as the Head Football Coach for the University. When fully executed, this MOU shall constitute a binding and legally enforceable agreement until superseded by a definitive written Employment Agreement between Coach and the University.

In consideration of the mutual promises contained herein, the parties agree as follows:

1. Term of Employment Agreement: December 5, 2017, through January 15, 2024 (6 seasons)

2. Base Compensation:
Annual Base Pay -- $250,000
Annual Supplemental Pay -- $9,950,000

3. Incentive Compensation (if earned):

Winning the CFP -- $500,000
AP National Coach of the Year -- $50,000
AP SEC Coach of the Year -- $25,000
Single year APR 960 or greater -- $25,000
Single year APR 980 or greater -- $50,000

4. Other Compensation and Benefits:
Moving allowance up to $50,000
2 vehicles or $850/month stipend in leiu of each vehicle
12 football tickets in lower bowl; 12 in suite; 8 tickets for away games; 12 for post season games; 2 parking passes; 4 tickets to men and women's basketball games

See? Even an old retired soldier can do it. :)

So you are saying Haslam has been neautralized?

He's truly been high on my list all along, and I'm stunned it took this long to talk to him.

He literally has the most complete resume of anyone we've talked to. SEC experience, HC experience, has beaten Bama, had beaten Florida, Conference Championships, Natty....literally everything you could want. Make him address his shortcomings, and he's a guy that would get you back on track ASAP. Barring landing the White Whale, which is obviously my first choice, I'd be thrilled with Miles and some UT blood on the staff.

Lol, "he has beaten Bama", when was that when Saban not there or Saban's first year at Alabama? Miles imo, makes fans that are just happy to finish second in division every year because it's better than where we are now. I want a coach that I think can win his share against them, not one I KNOW CAN NOT BEAT them. Miles had more in state talent and closer to Texas to recruit from, yet Saban owned him!! If he is hired, I hope he proves me wrong. Like any coach, you are only has good as supporting cast.

I thought Fulmer's comments about not only hiring a coach but also about assistants was a little unusual as well. Obviously, one would expect a head coach to assemble his own staff.

Because of the way my property is configured along with the height of the surrounding trees, the only decent place for something like that is in the horse pasture, and they hate even a RC plane. Someone close by us should have some wide open spaces; room to make a big mistake.

Yeah, I avoid horses like the plague. Cows don't seem to even notice. Deer, run around trying to figure out where the noise is coming from, never looking up and then run into the woods. Thanks for the comeback sir.

beav aint trollin. he made a believer out of me with the tweet about the currie firing half an hour before the meating with the chancellor.

Not giving away my own opinion of Beav in general, but on this specific bit of "evidence" of his validity: more than a half dozen people in the OJG threads were predicting Currie's imminent demise as early as Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

Beav tweeting it a half hour before it happened on Friday morning is not a clear indicator he knew anything. Just that he could predict likely outcomes as well as others. :)

I think people are over analyzing what Coach Fulmer said. Any comment in regards to assistant coaches was probably him simply saying, he is here to help the New HC bring the best staff possible. Not that he's necessarily getting them, only in that he's helping recruit them for our NEW HIRE
