Know several OKST people thought it was a real chance this time. No money counter offer so Gundy’s ego didnt get fed. They were worried. Read it several places too.

He did get a raise; just didn't get reported for a few days later. Regardless, it's basically a bluff on Gundy's part and OK State keeps folding to it. Gundy is an OK State alum. He's been there almost his entire life. He's not going to leave for any other job. Even with his raise, he's still making about $2 mil less at OK State than he would've at Tennessee, so basically he wants the extra money but wants to stay at his alma mater.

That makes no sense. The University provides the MoU. If Currie didn’t want those two stipulations then they wouldn’t have been in a MoU and Gruden wouldn’t have signed it.

C’mon people. Quit taking the bait

You know anyone with a computer and printer can draft an MOU, right?

Like, a booster for instance.

It takes University leaders to SIGN an MOU (or contract), but not to type one up.

C'mon, man! Use that noggin' for something other than a hat rack :)

EDIT:

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between The University of Tennessee (the University) and Jon M.F. Gruden (Coach) records the understanding of the parties as to the principal terms and conditions under which Coach will be employed as the Head Football Coach for the University. When fully executed, this MOU shall constitute a binding and legally enforceable agreement until superseded by a definitive written Employment Agreement between Coach and the University.

In consideration of the mutual promises contained herein, the parties agree as follows:

1. Term of Employment Agreement: December 5, 2017, through January 15, 2024 (6 seasons)

2. Base Compensation:
Annual Base Pay -- $250,000
Annual Supplemental Pay -- $9,950,000

3. Incentive Compensation (if earned):

Winning the SEC Championship -- $500,000
Appearing in the National College Football Playoffs (CFP) -- $250,000
Winning the CFP -- $500,000
AP National Coach of the Year -- $50,000
AP SEC Coach of the Year -- $25,000
Single year APR 960 or greater -- $25,000
Single year APR 980 or greater -- $50,000

4. Other Compensation and Benefits:
Moving allowance up to $50,000
2 vehicles or $850/month stipend in leiu of each vehicle
12 football tickets in lower bowl; 12 in suite; 8 tickets for away games; 12 for post season games; 2 parking passes; 4 tickets to men and women's basketball games
5. Termination by Coach Without Cause

...

[and so on]

See? Even an old retired soldier can do it. :)

Lol that’s hilarious if he got a raise. Yeah I know his history there he is basically their Manning. Would have been a tough pull but I know the Poke faithful were worried.

So publicly it’s “We just gave him a raise and we are not going to get into a bidding war” then turns around and says “ok you SOB we cave again just let this blow over and we will pay you again”. Too funny. They literally gave him a raise earlier this year.
😂😂😂😂

What if the booster side, not AD, drew it, Gruden signed and then it was presented to AD with Haslam and his puppet, Currie, squashed it. Then tried to sneak in Schiano, Haslam's handpick?

Just because the potential coach signed doesn't mean everyone has seen the MOU yet, right?

I'm not a legal guy and don't want to come off sounding that way. Just some common sense applied.

So anyone can go around presenting MoUs to potential coaches and then ask the University to sign on?

Maybe I’m wrong but I doubt any college coach got a job that way. Otherwise I’m going to go ahead and draft one for Saban and Bill Belachick. Maybe they sign it and I can forward it to Fulmer.

Gruden is a prima donna who loves the attention but is afraid to take on Lord Satan and the Cretin Turd because he just might fail. His fragile little ego could not handle that.

Gruden should be banned from the UT campus imo. He has as much to do with this mess as just about anyone (not named Haslam).

Either say you want the job or not, but don't make the crazies even crazier.

So if I disguise myself as them when I come to games, that will not meet with your approval?

If you will hand deliver it to his house, I will pay for your gas IF you leave a bag of dog poo on his porch and set it on fire.

Absolutely agree with you. Both have had a chance to come here. Both turned us down. So they can kiss my Tennessee a**..

It's not Grudens fault our fan base is crazy. His agent called the idea of Gruden coaching the Vols fantasy land in 2012. That was the polite version of never in a million years.

Well, here is my thing. If that is true, why keep trolling us five years after that? If we are the crazy ex girlfriend, quit going around giving us a little on the side.
