Phil may be a lowdown backstabber, but he's OUR backstabber. and he WINS!!!! Lets just hope he doesn't get backstabbed again. lot of daggers up on the hill. always have been.

might be a little longer than I expected, but I'd say by sundown Monday we will have our new Coach. You can book that. Thank y'all for the support (most of you) and those few haters can apologize next week. I'm sure you'll still be in a good mood.

I can't wait to see that little orange man with the blonde bowl cut on the sidelines! Nothing like a blonde Mo Howard cut and a good Valencia orange grimace to fire up the boys! I've been a fan for years of the man. Silly faces and all!!!

I struggle with depression myself ... have for decades. Silly as it may sound, this whole search has taken it's toll on me. I say this to say, I can relate. Prayers. Tell him to hang in there. It Will Be Okay.

I took it that he was talking about coaches, but it goes without saying that recruits that were not interested before will be now.

I don't know that recruits will necessarily be interested more now until they know who the coach is going to be.

I feel like I need to go find a quiet corner here at work and have a good cry. So many emotions right now.

I would think that there are many young men out there that are well aware of our last national championship and who the coach was. And you can be sure that many others will have watched whats going on today and will "google Phil Fulmer".

I’m going to tell you all a story about Phil Fulmer. Many of you know that I lost my teenage son a few months ago. He was born in ‘98 and was a surviving twin. That fall my husband and I were grieving the loss of one son and our other son was in the NICU hanging onto life by a tenuous thread. We had been through so many crises as any parent of a child in the NICU can tell you is just the way it is. We were grieving, scared and exhausted. We happened to catch the end of our football game vs Arkansas I believe - the one where their quarterback inexplicably fumbled and we came back to win? My husband had just said, “Well, that’s the ballgame.” I replied, “You never know what can happen!” He said, “All he has to do is take a knee.” Then the fumble happened and I KNEW that ANYTHING truly can happen and my son DID have a chance to make it! All things are possible! I knew from my faith, of course, that God could heal our son but for some reason seeing the end of that game gave me more hope.

I wrote a letter to Coach Fulmer after that thanking the team for not giving up and for showing that anything is possible. I received a very nice letter back from him telling me he read the letter to the team. He is a kind man with great character and compassion. I still have that letter.

It’s easy to say “It’s just football,” but as the poster whose son has depression commented and as our situation proves - sometimes it means MUCH more than just a game.

Just wanted to share that with my Volnation family.
