Currie silence can mean only one of two things..... Unfortunately, they are diametrically opposed.

On the one hand....... He's got his man (Sumlin) and we'll wake up in the a.m. to a new HFC at TN.

On the other..... He's being fired.

My vote is for the latter.

Regarding the other boosters, see above. Boosters don't have direct authority over the university. The deck is so stacked its shocking this thing has been stopped. Without the politicians getting involved this thing would already have been over.

This thing doesn't turn until bill turns on jimmy. It literally will take brother against brother to end the way the fans and other boosters want. You want to make an impact? Don't boycott pilot, where jimmy won't notice or care. Call bill haslam's office and tell him you'll never vote for him for senator. That's the route to pressure left. Senator is popularly elected by tennessean's. He probably can win it after this, but it takes it from his for the taking to a risk. Bill haslam is generally risk averse. Jimmy's the bull in the china shop.

Blind. I've been a VP of a few companies and I've rec'd four buyouts (although called severance packages, change of ownership compensation and early retirement).

Hello moron. I haven't backtracked anything. Only clarified that which was already abundantly clear to anybody who can read. I've already told you i'm not revealing myself here. knock yourself out making **** up about me. I'm not a huge fan of being misquoted so i corrected you. but from here on out, do your thing I guess. Jeez. get a ****ing life already. if you don't believe me, fine. you'll be eating **** soon and i'll remember this and laugh my ass off

So when we say "Currie is off the search," in my ears that doesn't sound identical to "Currie is fired."

Could be hearing wrong.

But what on earth would you do with an AD who does not have authority to do the big-name coaching searches? Force him to turn it over to a committee every time the need arises?

Going into the future with an emasculated AD seems like a bad idea, when you can just start over with a new and better one.
