Official Jon Gruden Thread XLV

If true, they would announce it. It would turn the heat WAY down, from the fans. I'm wondering if they aren't quickly interviewing Fulmer/Blackburn for AD and making a fire/hire tomorrow or Sat. Who knows, but something big is going on because it is too quiet.

Indeed we are either about to announce a hire or a fire or both

Sorry...but you are the biggest bunch of wide eyed suckers I've ever seen.

I'll bet anyone $1000 at ten to one odds that Gruden will not be our coach.

Any takers? I didn't think so.

You are just embarrassing yourselves. I'll leave you to it. :)

National columnists are now being more candid about Gruden, and it doesn’t look good for him or us Grudenites.

Pat Forde earlier today:

“Forget the Fantasy Island remix of a rendezvous with Jon Gruden, a shameless ego play by the ESPN announcer and a pitiful catfishing of a gullible percentage of the fan base.”

Ah-HAH!

Pat Forde, that big git, is among us here in VN.com. He goes by BanditVol! :)

BOT follows the money - turn it off - make it stand - leak information and the tide would turn - the other boosters aren't playing dirty like HOH and Currie - until they do nothing will change.

Losing the battle and the war.

The problem as I understand it is that while normally a BOT would follow the money, in this particular case the BOT members are loyal not to the money flow but to the Haslam machine. At all costs. The Haslams are like the Mitch McConnell of UT football. Everyone knows they're terrible concerning their constituents wishes but they have so many loyalists in place that you cannot get rid of them. Even in down times. The system is rigged. Bigly.

Offer is serious.

I am sure it was, but this thread isn't just about Gruden. That's is one of the many possibilities, but we are after a change. No keystrokes you put out here are going to fix your ID TEN T error.

Mike Florio two days ago:

‘Gruden wants a job in 2018 and is leveraging all interest, including Tennessee, to maximize his marketability.’

Then, we have our local, John Brice tweeting today that Jon Gruden has apparently referred Rich Basaccia for the job.

And yet, as of 11/30/17, 724 pm est, there has yet to be a denial of any kind from the man himself, nor from his agent. This is in stark contrast to 2012. Notice also, that the silence on the topic from the prospective entity, UT, has been and remains deafening.

Currie, for all we know, could be a decent person. I have been quite hard on him, and if he is not removed, I will continue to be. He had two options, Haslam or the others. He chose to sleep with the dog so to speak. Now he has the fleas. He made a bad choice.

I hope the silence is him being removed. It’s almost to quite for my liking.

He is maintaining his control because the 26 members of the Board are his buddies. The chairman is his brother the Governor. 21 of the other members have been selected by the Governor, 3 of the 4 members that aren't the Governor or his appointments effectively report to the Governor for their day job, and the final member is the President who is on the Board but also serves at its direction. The fix isn't just by personality. This thing doesn't swing against the Haslams.

Regarding the other boosters, see above. Boosters don't have direct authority over the University. The deck is so stacked its shocking this thing has been stopped. Without the Politicians getting involved this thing would already have been over.

This thing doesn't turn until Bill turns on Jimmy. It literally will take brother against brother to end the way the fans and other boosters want. You want to make an impact? Don't boycott Pilot, where Jimmy won't notice or care. Call Bill Haslam's office and tell him you'll never vote for him for Senator. That's the route to pressure left. Senator is popularly elected by Tennessean's. He probably can win it after this, but it takes it from his for the taking to a risk. Bill Haslam is generally risk averse. Jimmy's the bull in the china shop.

do we know bill's email, phone, twitter, facebook, ect?

sumlin/chavis

high profile enough to appease
orange enough to please

heard on a podcast that sumlin is having his agent put it out that they are a package deal.

not saying i'm on board ... saying i wonder if that's what it feels like they're up to.

quiet around here ... too quiet.

I would prefer another dc.

If everything is set, there's no need for fake interviews. They can't say Currie is interviewing someone in a noter state and hire gruden tomorrow with no conclusion to the first interview. I think we're getting close and Friday or more likely Saturday will be the day

So, basically, the AD contracted a Haslam STD.

The national guys know nothing. They have been wrong about everything, as everyone has.

If Gruden was out, Lamonte would have released a statement like he did in 2012. There was far more smoke this time around as well. Still no statememt.

I made this suggestion the other day. Make this stink stick to the governor like herpes and the narrative changes.

you really should back off on the name calling.
