I'm in the 10% then. Kiffen is a jerk with bad morals and recruits thugs and degenerates (see Nukeese and Da'rick). My first criteria for a coach is "Would I want my son playing for this guy". I would forbid my son to play for Kiffen, even if he were UT's coach. I hope we don't go there. And, I do not believe 90% of our fans would approve of the guy who bolted on us after one season.

With you.

Kiffin is Kiffin's worst enemy. The problems that trip him up have not been resolved, to my satisfaction. Aside from how he left, you couldn't trust what you'd be getting.

I think Blackburn would be a good replacement for Currie, but I think Fulmer would be FAR better. No one could unite the fan base, garner support for the new coach, and give a new coach more confidence in support of the university than Fulmer. Fulmer is the right hire at this point in time. Blackburn as assistant AD (AD in waiting).

It is important to remember, being the A/D is way more than being the face of UT football. Lots of other duties regarding all sports and fundraising. There is a fair amount of business knowledge needed

Heck, maybe Currie just said bump it, went to the shady side of Knox, got a room and a couple of ladies and a bag of blow. He going down in style.

Beaver, are you alive and well? Or did you pull an uncle Eddie and kidnap Currie for us. No one is judging. Send a smoke signal.

this. THIS!!!

I can't understand what's so hard about somebody standing up to Haslam, and telling him I'm not gonna do what you tell me, I'm gonna do what's best.

somebody in a position with some stones is all it would take, and this would be over. OVER!

they don't have to have his money. if they don't have to have his money, then they don't fall prey to his influence.

i guess i'm just to simpleminded to understand.

I'm with you there preacher...I don't get it either...seems pretty simple...we appreciate your donations and support to the university and the continuing ascent to excellence and hope you will continue to do so...but that doesn't give you any authority to call the shots...if that is your conditions to continue philanthropy, then keep it to yourself or find somewhere else to donate it.

Sorry...but you are the biggest bunch of wide eyed suckers I've ever seen.

I'll bet anyone $1000 at ten to one odds that Gruden will not be our coach.

Any takers? I didn't think so.

You are just embarrassing yourselves. I'll leave you to it. :)

My guess would be that Currie is in Bev's office getting the "It's not me, it's you, you're fired" treatment.

If that's true, and if there are any folks still at work in the AD's office tonight, we should hear the news by tweet-o-gram in an hour or two.

I actually read this one. I like it too.

Blow up the twit thingy.

Curious...Who has authority to fire Currie? Can one of Bev/Joe fire Currie, does it take both or is the Gov's approval also required?

If everything stays quiet for an hour or 2 longer, we should all go back to twitter, Facebook, email, etc at the same time and just blow the top off again like a sneak attack. 9 pm 8 central should do! They think we are giving up.

You learned from Pearl Harbor didn't you😁 My man

What is the worst case scenario? Everyday i think i know but a new level of ineptitude drives it further through the floor. Legit asking folks here, what is worst case atm?

Worst case:

-- Russia has infiltrated Rocky Top. Turns out seven different departments have pledged allegiance to Putin.

-- The university is $48 trillion in debt, and can't keep it secret any more. They have to sell the football stadium and land it sits on, Thompson-Boling Arena, the Ag campus, and all the waterfront property just to pay off this month's interest. They have no idea where they're going to get next month's.

-- Scientists discover that the Tennessee River is actually the watercourse of a massive fault line. They find out because of the massive quake that hits at midnight tonight. After all the seismic activity ends, the "river" is about as wide as a sidewalk, and a whole new waterway has been created 20 miles to the west, taking most of the flow. Goodbye Vol Navy.

-- Danny DeVito is named next head coach. For both the football team, and women's basketball. Ellen DeGeneres will help out by taking over football for him when the two seasons overlap.

-- Jim Haslam the Younger is named Chairman for Life of the BoT. The By-Laws are rewritten so that he literally can not be voted out of office.

-- John Currie becomes our Governor.

So yeah, that's the bottom.

We're doing swell by comparison, right? Right?

This quiet worries me in another way. You all don’t think Currie would be upset with all this bad press enough to hurt himself do you? What if he’s been pushed too far? He has been ridiculed and vilified for days. How could you handle that? I think he should resign too but I wonder at his staff not knowing where he is,

Hoping he disappeared less like "Sneak Greg Schiano in at Midnight" and more like how Jimmy Hoffa disappeared.

I've had dreams of Jimmy Hasmat, as an integral part of the stadium renovation, involving concrete, somewhere around the 6 yard line.

Deep. Six.

What really pisses me off about the whole thing is that Currie hasn’t communicated with the fans. Since he announced Butch being fired he has only released one statement and that was after the Schiano debacle. Am I right on that? That’s just poor business skills. After all, we are the ones spending money on the product he’s supposed to be promoting. But it’s nothing but silence from the Currie camp.

Well, we did tell him to STFU and GTFO.

We are just waiting on the GTFO part.

And legal knowledge. I'm not sure about his knowledge in any particular field, but his wisdom seems to be lacking.
