First off, Gundy and Brohm are not Dooley 3.0 but that's besides the point. I personally think that Schiano was always Currie's backup plan. I think other coaches were contacted through unofficial channels and they weren't all that interested. Then over the weekend as the Kelly and Mullen news broke, Currie hit the panic button.

Still doesn't explain why three coaching candidates that have shown interest and were on in Gundy's league were totally ignored and we went straight to the cellar.

This AD doesn't deserve a fanbase like this. And if they hire this loser they will lose a significant portion of this fanbase. The stadium will look like a Miami home game in mediocre years.

I asked in the RF with no answer so I ask in here.

I can't wrap my head around this. After Dooley and Butch I was thinking they just missed. But then they try Schiano.
Now as much as I hate Bama, why would any BOT or boosters not want that same setup in Knoxville? You get a good coach. Win alot of games. Season tickets up 300%. Ticket sales up 300%. TV exposure up 300%. Merchandise sales up 300%. Knoxville economy up 300%.

I mean what am I missing here guys, can anybody explain it to me?

Power, and control..
Dad Dickey left, and the rats came in through the back door while everyone was sleeping..
They thick as thieves, and are in it for the long haul.
They’re about to get us for another five years with a coaching hire shoved down your throats with a 89% disapproval rate by the our fanbase.
Peyton Manning will be swinging from Haslam’s n*ts at the pressor.
Just like Anderson, Blackburn, Fulmer, and Martin should be praised but won’t..
Anderson did the Gundy interview not Currie..
Blackburn was fired for trying to block the Dooley hire.
Fulmer was paid off so the fanbase wouldn’t riot over the fact he couldn’t get a serious interview for AD. Currie was hired directly by Haslam behind everyone’s back.
Tee Martin won us a championship, and they can’t even make one call to him?
This University is nothing like it was in the 80’s & 90’s..
The University now doesn’t give a rat as* about this state, or you.
They know we love the university, and they will take advantage of it.
So you think about all those things tomorrow..
Tweet, email, cancel season tixs, and call..
Do anything you can from letting this sh*t go on any longer.

Go Vols

The ADs primary job is to recruit coaches to the Athletics programs. You can't just put out feelers. The best ADs go out and sell the **** out of jobs. Just like any other hiring manager, they recruit.

I work in a competitive industry and I have to sell jobs like a mother ****er. Currie is a lazy ass ****er. I know people that could convince Pete Carroll to take this job. Even now there are people that could be convinced to take the job.

You don't ask an agent and then move on. Hell, my 8 year old could do that.

Jim Haslam doesn't need money and he doesn't care about those who could do better by bringing a dynamic coach in here. Winning big would have K-town rocking again, so in essence, everybody loses the way he goes about controlling everyone he can. He had this Schiano chit planned for quite awhile. There never was a true coaching search and after UT going 0-8 in the conference we were already at our lowest and many were looking for a good coach that would rally us. Now we get a double-whammy of even more ignorance. We all know the cause and effect. We are left with little choice.

This.

Remember that Book of Manning 30 for 30 where they showed all the Manning little boys playing football and Peyton cried like a little b*tch the whole time? He’s always thought he was the best.

After a night of playing rainbow six siege and drinking voodoo ranger IPAs all night - this is the first post I see when I log in. Sweet baby Jesus let this be true.

I'm afraid it's just people taking advantage of our misery... carry on.

No longer soon, it's not even a later anymore.

We've considered GA tech but also Auburn. I think the reason behind him wanting to go to Alabama though is because he wants to still be able to live at home...lol. It's only an hour from here to Tuscaloosa. I'd much rather him go ANYWHERE but there but in the end, it's up to him to decide his future and right now he wants nothing to do with UT and it makes me sick because that's always been his dream school.

Tennessee is still a good school.

Strap on the tin foil hats…….game theory, AA, chess…

What if the conspiracy became a reality because of incompetency…or “luck”

If you subscribe to the conspiracy, then we wonder how the good guys got their asses handed to them Sunday, well, maybe it’s so obvious that the opposite is true.

Haslam: napoleanesque egomaniac, predictable, is known quantity and reinforced by happenings of 2012

Currie: wildcard, stooge, all schiano, no other list

Our beloved, “give blessing, ok’s schiano” willing to take the black eye publicly, he is the game changer

So, we have a known predictable Haslam, and the wildcad stooge Currie, on the word of our beloved and go after schiano…game theory and probability suggest that the likelihood of haslam trying to do as he wishes is real good, just unreal to believe he is so brazen and egotistical that he believes he can do what he wanted and he was too predictable as he tried to do the exact same thing, here’s some rope.

The ok or blessing just feeds into his brain that he can do this, and is reinforced in his head by the blessing. More rope.

Sunday: the play works, now the gamble and poker, probability of being able to react and squash the hire, big gamble on the public outcry, but the beav, and his piece in all of this, and we maybe see that the ability of social media and volnation can change it, gamble. In a few hours the hire is squashed, big gamble but the probability suggested it likely, even if just 50.01%.

Enter the queen and king. Now, the haslam has been given his rope to hang himself, and the stooge is turned loose, who is supposedly all schiano and no list of other’s, Well, the last few days show a scrambling stooge with no plan and begins to look worse if you can believe it.

Now Davenport the queen becomes into play. The debacle Sunday forces the queen out, and by chance or luck didn’t sign the MOU for Schiano. We hear of booster meetings and to the public it looks just like we saw it.

Gamble; high probability of media, boy we can almost call this gamble a 90% chance predictable outcome. UT is everywhere, the pain is too much, we are the laughingstock, furthering the movement of the queen and king to the good side along with volnation outcry.

But, strangely enough, Monday through Wednesday we see the queen not ok the Brohm hire, along with the king Dipietro.

Bot meeting, very quiet even known about, but not in Nashville, in Knoxville.

As with any good conspiracy we can go many ways. But, the transpiring of the events that have unfolded could be related to the game theory and just playing percentages, and ultimately a big gamble.

But, maybe just by chance or ”luck” we are seeing an unfolding of events that lead to the grand hire because of sheer incompetency and luck. The stooge proves to be so good at his stoogeness that he ultimately allows to happen what was unimaginable, left with only one way out for the University to feel like it has missed the end of a program, the big hire.

Flame away

This is not a drill, this is not a test..,..they are trying to sneak Dave Doeren as next UTHFC in the middle of the night.

I'm speechless and hopeless if they turned down Kiffin, Martin and Steele.

The only thing I can say, the fan base would have never accepted a Kiffin hire a month ago. It's bothersome to me that the Schiano scare... has made us complacent in going down the road with a Kiffin. With that said, if I knew this was our best option, based on the names being thrown out, it is. I'm in the same ship as you. I hate it!!! What I really want, is to know for sure Gruden is an absolute NO...the fans as a whole could and would move on! Gruden rumors absolutely puts any other HC at a disadvantage.

Doesn't sound like they're sneaking anything. If that's their choice, I may move on. My sheepskins don't say UT. Nothing really holding me but about half a century of living in Tennessee commingled with state pride and the hope that they would do right by us this time.

As much as I wanted to be done with the Gruden talk, and was for a little, the happenings are just to whacky to not consider that it still might be a reality or possible.

Gruden said nothing yesterday, and first thought was it's done he has played the right PR card. But, maybe the silence was a good thing, and he still didn't refute or decline.

I felt that the booster's got their knees curt out from them, but, once again taken the other side and I said it myself when talking of my career, you give people the rope to hang themselves.

Due to the craziness that has transpired it is just as likely and reasonable that we can assume nothing is too far fetched, and maybe the reality can happen.

This is the crux, take away conspiracy, live in reality, go off of what we have seen happen, and thus my conspiracy to reality because of simple idiocy. By sheer luck and magnitude of ineptness, the one thing thought not possible might happen because there is no other way to come out of this without looking like the inept stooges we are being portrayed as.

Makes me feel a little better, even if no truth in it. And, what wouldn't make sense, can, during this clusterf*** of a few days.

This this this.

Only the Coterie of Stupid currently occupying UT could make Kiffin look like the best hire. However, the package Donte claims makes this the best deal if and only if Gruden has actually said no.

I'm convinced Gruden reached out to us on Seattle radio. The Coterie of Stupid have not courted him, have trolled us with fake Tampa flights, and wouldn't have jobs last Sunday night if Haslam wasn't governor and BoT Chair.

Stop Doeren hire and Currie is definitely gone I think. Then let Beaver et al approach Gruden finally with Kiffin, Tee and Steele on standby.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. What a night. I truly hope this administration gets its head out of Haslam’s rear end long enough to see what a preventable cluster this is and was. After ten years of spoon feeding us lies and empty promises, we are tired of eating at your table. I fear we haven’t hit rock bottom yet and a Doeren announcement will set off a cataclysmic reaction.

If they hire double d from NC State i will probably be done with my team for awhile. Until some people no longer work there. They did exactly as i figured. Offered big money to the one person they absolutely knew would say no. Now we are back to 4 mil a year at the bargin bin. For .500 coaches.
