I'm tired of the relentless trashing we get from other fans. I'm tired of seeing a once proud program go down the ****ter.

I really can't stand to watch it any more. We had hope here that it would get turned around but we've power hungry incompetency at the top.

I respect you and I trust your knowledge of the situation. Reading your post I must believe he has chosen to distance himself from this train wreck. He has played this perfectly for him by never publicly acknowledging anything one way or another. Now, that it has blown up, he can deny ever even being contacted and everything that comes out can be written off to wild Grumors and fan speculation just like in 2012.

I agree

What's the chance they are just biding time until Gruden is available?

I'll hang up and listen.

If that’s the case, they could have picked a less devisive, embarrassing way to do so. This is Dr.Phil worthy. And I hate dr. Phil.

Finally, a national reporter addresses the big question: What happened to Gruden to Tennessee rumors?

His answer is that Gruden and his agent trolled us for more money.

As bad as I hate to admit it, he’s right.

You would have to be in current contract negotiations with another team, for that to work. He’s not getting more with ESPN. Horrible journalism.

The Haslam is the bad guy narrative is almost not entirely complete BS and drummed up, promoted, and inflamed by a bunch of low level boosters who have their feelings hurt they don't have the influence they wish they did. Currie turns out to be a completely incompetent hire,

How can you say that with the evidence staring us in the face of what every coaching search has looked like over the past 8 to 10 years. There is one common denominator.

Your next statement is further proof of this. That AD that turned out to be "incompetent" was Haslams pawn.

At the end of the day if the truth really does come out, you're going to find out the entire Gruden thing was BS start to finish. The master plan and clandestine meetings were BS. The Haslam is the bad guy narrative is almost not entirely complete BS and drummed up, promoted, and inflamed by a bunch of low level boosters who have their feelings hurt they don't have the influence they wish they did. Currie turns out to be a completely incompetent hire, what AD offers a job not knowing if the person being offered will actually take it?? Allowing Gundy to go public with numbers and turning us down was incompetence at it's highest. The guy in my opinion this morning is on a mission to punish UT football fans plain and simple. If $10 million would get Gruden here I'm all for it, but the signed MOU story, house bought stories were all complete BS. I'm not sure Gruden would agree to work for Currie or anyone else at UTAD for $10 million, make him the AD perhaps but I doubt it. He doesn't want to work that hard at this stage of his life IMO, been there done that.

You realize that Currie was brought in by Haslam, right?

Something occurred to me as I was pumping gas this morning. First off, I was wondering if this particular chain was a subsidiary of Pilot. But then I wondered....what if.....

What if the Gruden talk was legit and contact had been made, but NOT for him to coach UT, but to coach the Browns? That Haslam had used his influence and played the boosters into thinking he was cooking a deal to get Gruden here when he was getting him to Cleveland. After all, Gruden is from Ohio.

Made me queasy just thinking about it.

I just threw-up in my mouth a little. But that IS how the Haslams think. So it is in realm of possibility. The Browns may have to become the orange jumpsuits the way the-trial is-going.

Someone brought up the point that what if the photos of Gundy at the hotel was him waiting on Currie and Currie was late or never showed up. How mad would you be?

No but I would for sure shut down a baseless rumor.

Perhaps there may be something there as has been discussed? Maybe he hasn't been approached and doesn't want to eliminate that possibility? I don't know? I think he is being as professional about it as he can be. He's kind of in a catch22. I would probably handle it the same way if it were me.

Back several weeks ago, before the Board of Trustees meeting, part of the Grumor narrative was the “deal” to once again have the AD under the President in exchange for increased University funding. It’s apparent that didn’t happen.

Whether it’s Gruden, Gundy, Kelly, Morris....whoever, there are significant “controls” put on our head coach that makes this an undesirable job, despite it outward appearance. Til those controls are gone, this is what it program will be.

I'm loving the public disgrace of Currie right now. Dude looks like a complete clown and Haslam looks the same for installing him as AD and making him highest paid AD.

Haslam and Currie...enjoy the bed you made.

Based on all of the posts and passion in this thread, it is soooo apparent that the fans care more about the University than anyone currently being PAID to care.

Was talking to a friend who relayed a conversation he had with a current AD at a non power 5 school.

Said, “Currie’s actions display gross incompetence and insures zero confidence in his abilities going forward.”

We aren’t just saying it. Others are saying it too.

Punishing the fans makes no sense when you have to turn around and ask for fan participation in sporting events and donations . I don’t think his incompetent I think he is making bad choices based on big money advise and the ideology that the ones in power know what’s best . We as one of the largest fan bases in the country showed the powers that be something they’ve never seen before an unwillness to roll over and take what they are selling and it scared the hell out of them and the rest of the football powers around the country that’s why the pushback against us is so fierce

The only chance (I agree it's getting slim) to prevent further disaster is to keep the pressure on the admin. Now is not the time to relinquish the momentum gained on Sunday.

It's the Tennessee Browns man. Complete clown show. Haslam has run this thing into the ground. Eff him and all his enablers in the media.

If Gruden goes to the Browns, I swear the last bit of my sanity will go along with him.

But it wouldn’t shock me

Blackburn was the guy for the job then Charlie Anderson happened.

Blackburn is the person to tell Haslam and the others where to fk off.
For that reason he isn’t and will never be here as long as they’re around.
Currie happened because of Haslam power play and Davenport
