It’s odd nothing was asked. Minutes before Gruden came on they mentioned they were going to talk NFL AND College Football coming up with Gruden... but nothing.

It's not odd.

It's setting in that Gruden here was never a reality. I'm not a full-bore Grudenite but I was excited about the possibility. Now I know I got excited for nothing.

Silence speaks louder than words...

I wish I could believe it, but, unfortunately, if there were truth to him coming or wanting to, by not saying anything and by not even acknowledging it falls into the best case scenario of damage control and marketing.

He doesn't say anything because it's not worth discussing. The storyline has always been the Grudenites are crazy, there was little to nothing nationally covered or discussed as this being probable, let alone possible.

By not saying anything it looks worse than that of the other train of thought that says he is coming or considered it, by not saying anything this just stays under the carpet and the few thousand crazy UT fans stay as, and are viewed
as, and considered just that, a few thousand crazy people.

I thought there was hope he was coming, I think we are done here boys and girls. Sad day, sad week, sad year.

You can believe that silence is also good and that things are being done behind the scenes and he is waiting and there is hope, but, I don't think this is the case. Hope I'm wrong, but, no matter how much things change amazing how they still stay the same.

I never said it was odd in the sense that this implies there’s still a chance. That was clearly his chance yet we got nothing.

Delusional. Most believe it's easier to coach in the NFL than college and Gruden hasn't coached in a decade. He's probably turned down some offers by NFL teams, yet UT fans think he has some sort of loyalty to UT. Look, if he were to coach again it would be in the NFL. Get over Gruden. It is not and never was going to happen.

Sole focus is to get Blackburn in as AD. That has to happen, regardless of anything to do with Gruden.

I think the future of the program will be decided in the next couple days, and it could happen at any time.

If Currie is allowed to trot Martin, Dorean, Morris, Steele, or Brohm, it’s time to give up. I mean that.

Once again, this guy gets it. Get over yourselves. This thread almost makes me regret being a Volunteer fan. I'm going back to lurking now, I've said my piece

Well, prepare yourself. Because they are operating under the cover of night and there is a good chance that Morris could already be signed or at least agreed before anyone gets to work.

Wow, ok...your username says you are a modest fellow, but if you can't understand that this thread is so beyond Gruden at this point, then I don't think me or anyone else can help you.

Yup. Sadly, this is going to happen. Probably today.

And he did make an odd statement, the crux of which was: I hope you guys have some other questions for me bc I’m starting to ramble

Sadly, that’s what I’m expecting. We already gave up the NFL in this house. Now I reckon we’ll be giving up Tn football on Saturdays. :thud:

I agree, but, let's be honest. If our big donors had worked and planned to get Gruden and then got bamboozled in the exact same manner as before and got their knees cut off from underneath, again, in the exact same manner there is little to no hope of any change.

By hearing beav say they underestimated him, is bad enough. To underestimate these people and have them do the exact same mother F****** thing shows, well, there is no hope.

You do not have this happen twice in the exact same manner, and have hope that the good guys are going to win. Seriously. The panic is on, apathy continues beyond normal depressive levels, and the masses are quelled by the panic, and the crazy Grudenites sliver back into our own let down little worlds. The big dog seemingly has won again, and the old guard will continue to run the ship.
