Official Jon Gruden Thread XLV

My sources (who I trust and have have never let me down) are saying all of the Schiano and Gundy talk is just a smokescreen. They are doing this to drag the coaching search out to allow Gruden to finish this season of MNF. Last night at the bar, Beav, Atlvol and I discussed if we should release this information and we decided it was time to calm everyone down and let them know Gruden is still coming. Currie and company are getting huge raises after this for playing their act so well.

(My font looks blue and I can't edit it)

Looks blue or should be blue?

I agree again.

I think this 'booster war' is nothing but a LARP from posters on here until I see otherwise.

The way I see it, if Gruden was signed as indicated on here by insiders info. Then why not boosters go public with how they had him agreed on the job, and Currie killed it for whatever reason, and give those reasons and what he did. Then things would blow up, currie might actually get fired. And then hire Blackburn, and Gruden deal goes through.

Because he never did sign! Do you honestly think they'd remain this hush hush about it if he had? They have nothing to lose and everything to gain by making it public that he signed or was going to, but Currie and the bunch never approached. Instead, none of that ever happened. Hence why no one is talking about it.

Yep. The booster coup feels like it didn’t work as intended. At this point, other than demanding that Currie and Davenport be fired due to gross negligence as a result of their own admissions/actions, there is nothing else we can do.

It’s a long, lonely road to be a whistleblower in corporate america, but if the heinous allegations alluded to exist, then someone who has evidence of them needs to come forward. Until then, this will keep on keeping on.

Because it most likely never happened

I never said he signed...I said the "insider" who told us they knew he signed a couple weeks ago. My point was no one knows anything

What truly stopped the Shiano hire? He could have forced it through. Why did he flinch?

I honestly believe fan outrage caused him to flinch this one time, it's obvious to anyone who's been on this board since Sunday that Haslam doesn't appear to be scared of the other boosters.

Whether that be because of his ego or the fact he might better at reading people than others and could tell thst they wouldn't try anything.

IMO, he thought the fans would probably fuss about it for a little bit but would get over it and fall in line.

What didn't account for is how pissed off everyone is at this program st the moment with the way the season went down and this hire was the last straw.

This was an uproar that no one has ever seen, many in the media said this, and with all that bad press and all the fans laying the blame squarely on him, he flinched, it might have only been for a second but he did and now he's trying to make it look like he's helping get a big hire.

That's why you got Bill Haslam saying what he did in that interview.

It was the fans that called his bluff not the boosters

Or this 'booster coup' is totally fake outside of maybe two or three non-influential small boosters.

If Gruden signed something, anything, then release that and this roof will blow. Since nothing has been released, I assume it doesn’t exist or people are afraid of Haslam.

Part of me agrees. Part of me can also see where Boosters other than Haslam weren’t thrilled with the Schiano hire.

Gruden did not sign anything! He could not sign something that Currie was not on board with because Currie would have to have it drawn up!
