This was all fun while it lasted. I appreciate all the rumors and the fun we had with all of this. This will be my last ride though lol, I'm too old to for this stuff :).

Agree Bear.. oh well. I enjoyed all the camaraderie in here. Hope Preacher is around friends for support today.. Anyone know what happened to Comb? Loved his/her optimism. Wish all the best. But I am like Boro who can not spend anymore household disposable income on this if it is indeed Pru...

Just like the previous AD, this AD has done nothing to squelch the Grumors... It's ridiculous and was a part of the reason for the revolt.

Is the administration really that blind? If it's not Gruden, someone at Tennessee should have reached out to Gruden and LaMonte should have issued a denial.

It's either Gruden or REALLY REALLY bad public relations. Since this is UT, I'm going with the 2nd.

The names being thrown around puts me in fairweather fan territory... Will have to earn the trust and it won't come easy.

Can’t agree with you more.

Instead we are the last ones at the bar and looking to take someone home.

Tennessee can’t get a sitting head coach of some reputation to come? No Miles, Peterson, Patterson, Leach, Kiffin? Instead we have to go the coordinator route?

Why do we make these hires every single time?

All aboard.. Hurry hurry one last roller-coaster ride to the top.. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and for one more day live in a land of gruden until you can't no more... When you get to the top.. In honor of those we last during the schiano Civil War.. Those who just couldn't take it and went nuts.. And ape.. Scream from the top of your lungs.. Where ever you are the Comb Gruden to the Hill...

Been alluded to here a few times, but I’m beginning to agree that the booster super-structure really hasn’t changed all that much and that Fulmer as AD was the only way to quiet the fans.

And Gruden ... if it’s not him ... is officially persona non grata after this day, IMO. I won’t be getting on any future Gruden Trains.

So, are we back here in three, four, or five years? Maybe that should be a poll.

Edit: For head coach search (not for Gruden)

You wouldn't consider Morris to arky underwhelming? I do.

For Arkansas? No. Morris- while he has a crap record at SMU- built the offensive system that Clemson uses to run train on people. I think he's a better football mind than people here give him credit for, and a good fit for someone like Arkansas.

That doesn't mean I wanted him at Tennessee.

After the Currie mess if you're still listening to Beav or other posters that are trolling the fan base it's your own fault. It's my belief that Gruden was never at any time during the last 24 days a realistic candidate for our coaching vacancy.

Is it absolutely true that there is a press conference today? If so, can someone please refer me to a source for that information, like a News Network?

I'll hold out until the press conference and then I will make my decision on how I feel.

This has been the most utterly unrealistic and most unexpected circus that no one with the most wild imagination could have foreseen.

I just wanted to know we went after him, and gave it everything, and if he said no, good, can live with that. That's it. I never expected nor wanted to see the sh** show we have endured and witnessed over the last 10 days or so, or the build up of the firing and decline of this team this year, the worst year ever seen by a UT football team.

If it ain't Gruden, then this whole ordeal of hiring a coach falls directly in line with and resembles the most miserable year ever witnessed on UT soil.

Everything sucks

Bham, since you've been throwing out Star Wars GIFS...Luke on the Falcon leaving the Death Star referring to Kenobi (or Gruden). 'I can't believe he's gone'

Hopefully followed by Han 'Never tell me the odds!' as something far fetched happens

Followed by exploding Death Star for boom effect.

I won't be back. Gruden this time or never.

Oh me either. I'm done with Gruden. He can suck it as far as I'm concerned. I don't mind him saying no. What really makes me want to punch him in the face is how he continued to troll us, string us along or whatever you want to call it.

But my reference was less about Gruden and more about how long will it be before we are going through this head coach search process again.

I'll add.... if we do have a press conference today, then I stand a small chance of it being to intro Jon Gruden because I'm an optimist, but it most likely will be someone else.
However, if for any reason there's not a press conference scheduled for today, then I would be ever-more optimistic that it might be JG, because it seems like we've done all of our interviewing and flying around for other candidates, if they were for a head coaching position.
I heard someone say last night that...just as a rumor they were throwing out... JG wanted more time? So if we don't have a press conference today, then logic kicks in...

I'm glad you put your opinion because that is where we are all.

No one can prove or disprove anything, no one, anywhere. It's all been opinion, rumor, conspiracy, half truths, subtle lies, all out bs and everything in between and up and down and all around.

Everyone has held to what they individually wanted to see and hear, or not see and hear.

All I want is to know we tried, and forced him to say no. all I want is this, nothing more, nothing less. I can live with a No if we truly tried. And herein lies the quandary, as for every good there was a bad, and for every he's coming there was a no he is not. This entire thing could have and should have been handled a little better than what has been seen and reported in the public.
