SIAP, I'm trying to work today.

AtlantaVol posting on "Boosters urging Currie to resign" thread:

We are headed into a dark time...but we must rid ourselves of the folks who continue to bring this program down and bow to “old money” in order to truly have a chance at the future. I am headed to ktown today...if something isn’t done then many of us have no other choice than to pull funding and resources until a change is made. I urge all of you no matter how big or small a donor to let the folks at UTAD department know we expect a healthy process and fair shake....if not support other good causes and get tickets on stub hub the day of the game if you want but do not donate until resolution has come.

Is there anyway UT can clean house? Can we fire all of the BOT members, Chancellor Davenport and Currie? Is that even possible? President Joe also? I feel like UT needs to hit the refresh button with all ppl In charge of making decisions. Along with keeping HOH as far away from UT as possible!

Who would fire them? How high up do you think this goes? The head of the BOT is the Governor... who just happens to be a Haslam.

Can I send this too? I’m no diamond level donor, but I am a donor!

Use it as you wish, just don't attribute any edits you choose to make as coming from me.

Of course, I wanted to litter it with expletives so harsh, sailors would've been obliged to give me a "standing-o." However, nothing is ever accomplished when you end a conversation/correspondence before it even starts, and expletives would've done just that.

I feel like I've accomplished something in life.

@CasualPint_NSH has closed the account
@flyerwarriorTN has taken his account private after copy/pasting apologies on twitter

A report from Knox News reached out to him on Twitter to get a statement

Good freaking riddance.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction

He stated his opinion and WE stated ours

Now he can move back up North

The AD can't really hire anyone we'd all get behind at this point to be fair. Tee Martin is as close as you'll get to a universally supported hire, and that's a stretch too.

I’ve said this already too: Coach Cut is the best VFL option, imho. Bring Tee Martin too and let Coach Cut groom him to become the next HC. Coach Cut’s morale character is second to none. That’s what this University needs right now, and the student athletes would flurish and grow, not only in their athletic ability but as men, as well.

If Peyton signed off he isnt a VFL.

Just dont see this. Also dont see Peyton taking the blame for Haslam, makes zero sense.

Peyton was working with the boosters to bring us Gruden. I doubt he was pushing for Tennessee to hire a coordinator instead of a sitting head coach. Don't believe everything you read.

I called the Chancellor’s office. A young man answered and stated Davenport was not receiving calls. Duh! So I voiced my concerns regarding Currie, who’s firing I favor, along with voicing the embarrassment and anger I feel towards the people allowing our beloved University to flounder. I expressed that my contributions, however relatively small they are, will stop. He hung up on me. TIFWIW

Can’t agree with Tee at all. Not liked or respected at USC.
I’d throw the bank at Kiffin, first then frost, Norvell ,
If that doesn’t work keep an interim, clean up the AD/academic cluster frack then try again next year.

We need to get to the bottom of why coaches don’t want to come here. Those issues predate the unruly fan argument. Is it booster interference, academic side playing too much a role? I hate to say it but bama was in the same position with academic control and booster involvement prekiffin. Their program was not a power at that time. Maybe we can learn from them.

( now I need some soap to wash out my mouth for saying that)

I posted this in on a different thread...

“Lane may be a loose canon, and might not always think before he speaks, but he’s a lot smarter than people give him credit for. This would be too big of a risk for him.

If he comes back, half the fans won’t accept him. No one in the AD will, truly, trust him. And if he doesn’t succeed, the fan base will eat him alive.”

“Plus, the AD’s not going to take that risk, during this PR nightmare.”.

"The AD isn't gonna take that risk".

Bahahahaha that is absolutely hilarious.

Minor rant here. Email Joe DiPietro as well at utpresident@tennessee.edu

I emailed him during the AD search and very respectfully stated that I hoped the search committee would very seriously consider David Blackburn. Dr. DiPietro did respond to my email which surprised me but said a few things in that email that really pissed me off.

1. He addressed me by my first name. I showed him the respect by addressing him by his title of Dr. and his last name. We aren't friends, we don't know each other. Show me the same respect I show you.

2. He basically condescendingly said that my opinion didn't matter. He basically said we have a search committee that is going to make the decision. Didn't thank me for my input, didn't say they would take it under consideration.

I sincerely hope that he and others are regretting their decision to pass on Blackburn today.

Awesome.

It's like calling Equifax after the big data breach. CYA in full operation.

We are experiencing a coup from one smaller set of power boosters towards the other. It's going to get nasty. But I expect Currie to resign and for Fulmer and Blackburn to take the reins while the Haslams to be faded out... but, it's gonna get ugly.

No their not. Not now! You can’t follow-up this PR nightmare with this kind of controversial hire, in Lane Kiffin. Think logically for a minute.

After yesterday I believe the fan base would support Kiffin!

This is the part where we get a C rate, up and comer coach who we will be told to gratefully accept in light of this debacle. Then it's 2012 all over again except without the recruiting surge. Then we have to wait four years before we can start it all over again. I can hear it now: "it's year zero, four wins is to be expected. It's year one, five wins is the ceiling. It's year two. Six wins or bust. It's year three. Maybe this isn't working. it's year four. It's not his fault because Butch and Dooley six wins is actually really good coaching."
