It was all unicorns, rainbows, and grudens this morning. I leave for a couple of hours and the place goes nuts. Can I get a quick update?

Around 9:30 am on Saturdays and after 5:00 pm through the week seems to be prime time for trolls.

*Listen to Boro....
It's still Gruden

I thought your source was confident that we were getting Frost

I made my prediction based on the only legit information I consider real, that Frost was Curries top choice and he reached out to UT. Currie 100% went to see him during the bye week. He is a big fan of Frost as are a lot of top programs. If it was UT VS Nebraska I think we would get him.

I said then if Kelly turns down the UF job that would be bad for us. Frost is going somewhere this year and I am afraid that is going to be UF at this point. If no more info comes out by Monday I will be talking to the same person again and try and get thoughts.

Not ready to write him off but the UF opening scares me and our chances.

If not us I hope he goes to Nebraska I do not want him across the field from us every year.

TN. to hire Mike Norvel Monday. I hope this is true! Will be a good fit for Vols. Great job Curry!

Kelly just went to UCLA, so who are the Gators gonna get ? I hope it's Butch Jones, I hear he's saved up a bunch of leadership reps and just waiting to unleash them.

On the ESPN predictions, have we considered the possibility of that they might be diverting attention away from Gruden out of respect for him?

With all allegations during Butch's tenure do people really think we would hire a coach who knew and helped keep the Sandusky mess covered up.

I don't get why this is so hard to understand. After all the stories about Butch coming out, all the blowback about how Antone Davis was treated, and the fact that Peyton Manning hates him, people still think we would hire Schiano.

It's bad enough that fans do it, but journalists should know better.

I respect your thought OJB, but it seems to me the word 'considering' implies 'plan' , and ESPN and plan are hard for me to rationalize in the same thought process.

Sources tell FootballScoop Tennessee AD John Currie has been working the phones and putting in the hours expected of a UT AD during a coaching search. This search has been referred to as “thorough” by more than one person in the profession to FootballScoop.

Before we get into the real stuff, we are reminded in accordance with Tennessee state law, in connection with any Tennessee coaching search we are required to mention Jon Gruden’s name somewhere prominently in the article. Jon Gruden was never a candidate for this job. That is all.

Now, for the update. While we have heard from sources throughout the week that Currie feels comfortable with Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano if he needs to go there, the buzz in the profession the past 24 hours has been that Mike Leach seems to have a very good shot at being offered the position.

The expectation from those we’ve spoken with is that Leach would accept the position if offered. We can further add that sources tell FootballScoop Washington State officials have had internal discussions about their plans should Leach move on (in addition to Tennessee, Leach could be wind up being a target at other SEC schools as well). In the event they need to make a hire, sources tell FootballScoop Washington State would move without hesitation to promote defensive coordinator Alex Grinch to head coach.

Now, back on the Tennessee front, word has been shared that Dan Mullen reportedly headed out recently to meet with John Currie. It is unclear at this time if Tennessee funded that trip or if Jimmy Sexton did.

Tennessee and Ohio State play today and Washington State plays tonight. A Washington State win tonight would send Leach’s squad into the Pac-12 Championship and Ohio State has already punched their ticket for the Big Ten Championship. It is unclear it Tennessee would be able to secure either Leach or Schiano before those games.

Let's all be reminded of what we know.

1.) It has been reported on here and corroborated by TOS that folks in the AD have been informed to report in at 8 AM tomorrow morning (they usually don't work on Sundays) and the facilities folks have been informed to start busting it right after the game. Also known as we need to be ready from an administrative and facility standpoint for something to happen Sunday, Monday or Tuesday (at the latest).

2.) It has been reported that the players will be informed who their new coach is going to be before the end of the weekend.

You don't do this if your Currie unless you already have your man.

So if there is a report that we have yet to talk to you or will be talking to you in your future you are officially nothing other than a name that the clueless media is throwing on the wall to see if it sticks!

As has been stated multiple times over the last couple of days and reiterated further this morning: The Eagle has LANDED! VolNation just needs to be patient.

The range of names that are ALL OVER THE PLACE being thrown around as Tennessee’s new coach says only one thing to me:

NONE of those names are it. The misinformation campaign by Currie has worked brilliantly. :)

Very small circle of people who know who it is, and NOBODY in that circle is in the media. They are reporting what they are being fed. :)

Name me another job in the country where more than 2 names are being mentioned... magically, we have 8-10? LOL

SOOOOOOOOON!!!

More than that it seems they are all avoiding the big Gruden elephant in the room...me thinks that is done on purpose.
