So I did a little research on Petersen.
(Strength of schedule)
Boise State:
06-07- (38) Beat Oregon St, Utah and Oklahoma
07-08- (77) No big victories.
08-09- (42) Beat Oregon
09-10- (50) Beat Oregon and TCU
10-11- (24) Beat Va Tech, Oregon St. and Utah
11-12- (36) Beat UGA and Ariz. St.
12-13- (75) Beat Wash
13-14- (49) No big wins
AVG: 47.62 (SOS)
Washington:
14-15- (39)
15-16- (19)
16-17- (10)
17-18- (43)
AVG: 27.75 (SOS)
CAREER AVG AT THESE 2 STOPS: 41 (SOS)
*Note* A couple of these years, especially last year, were a little skewed because of the playoffs and making it to a couple of BCS bowls with Boise.
He's lost 2 games this year with a SOS of 43.
Im not anti-petersen, but to act like he is all world and a top 5 coach is not accurate. Doing more with less, possibly.
If it were him, its not worst case scenario at all. I just personally feel there are better options out there if you're going to throw a lot of money at someone.
One thing that some people do not factor in is that he's also never recruited the south and not familiar at all with the SEC, minus the butt whooping they received by Alabama last year.
still 100% Grude..
His SOS at Boise is never going to be very high because of its conference, but what he did there was impressive. Boise knocked off some really highly ranked solid teams during his tenure. The SOS really shouldn't be held against at Boise because they scheduled some tough opponents during Peterson's tenure.
