This gotta mean it's Gruden.

It won't be a head coach that is playing in a championship game so you can eliminate guys like Gary Patterson and Chris Petersen since they are likely to win this weekend and play in their conference title games. It's also not likely to be Scott Frost either.

And its unlikely Currie would be this confident on an announcement unless he's already spoken to the hire. So we can eliminate someone like Dan Mullen.

This leaves Gruden as a strong possibility.

The press conference is the announcement. The university won't steal its own thunder by announcing anything in advance.

Leaks, on the other hand, will be hard to contain in the final 24 hours. We will definitely start hearing things. Just nothing formal.

I suspect Saturday evening and definitely
Sunday morning to begin hearing leaks IF an official announcement is Sunday

I find it unlikely it's Gruden if it's announced on Sunday.

Good morning! I'd love this to be true! Sunday afternoon and Tuesday are my most available times during my vacation.

Pretty sure Petersen has been eliminated from his title game. Standford or Washington State will play USC for the Pac12 championship.

I keep seeing people say this.

What the hell has Chris Petersen done at the power 5 level to get this amount of love?

Outside of a fluke run to the playoffs last year (largely because of a weak schedule) he's done nothing of note. This year his team has had 2 embarrassing losses to subpar teams after having an embarrassingly easy schedule once again.

Chris Petersen is not that good.

It's not just that or him being in Baltimore. If they announce it Sunday, MNF would be a circus.

I don't see it happening the day before MNF. If it's Gruden.
