You may be correct I don't know.... what I simply say is they don't interest me..

If I hire you, I will give you a job to do, and tell you when I expect it to be done.... I will ask that you stay within the guidelines but will never ask how you did it... just that you do it....

I am not belittling anyone who wants to look into those things, they are good people, it is just NOT my nature to do so

The coaches were involits operating under this -do your job, stay between the lines we've painted on the turf and I'll sign your check- approach. Hence, that's why we've been graced with the coaches we have.

Think Alabubba. Ours is different, but think about what they did when they got tired of chasing their tails. Ours is much more expansive and fool proof, though.

I don't care how good a coach he is, he's not going to win the SEC with the Idaho white boys football club. How is he going to recruit down here? Who are his go-to assistants with SEC ties who can recruit lights out, 'cause if he can't do it he's going to need about 5 Trooper Taylors?
I agree to an extent. IMO, a great recruiter down here, say from from Texas....all the way to FL, has to be able to get down on their knees in the living rooms of recruits to pray for direction.

Bringing Mullen into Knoxville makes no sense at all. Just meet him in Jackson at the Cracker Barrel off I 40. Get a good meal then tell him thanks but we ain't helpin you and snake sexton get a raise. Then don't pick up his part of the tab.

Bump just because I thought it was slightly humorous.

I know it doesn't mean much but got some interesting news while at my in laws for Thanksgiving. A real good friend of my father in law played for UT in the 60's. He stays in touch with the program and goes to a good number of away games as well. When asked who he thinks the next coach is he is fully convinced it's Gruden.

Seems as legit as anything else being thrown around...
We only have to wait a few more days.
It's either Gruden or it's not.

But we have had more than enough information given on here in the last few weeks saying that it is Gruden.

I get that, but it’s like saying Urban Meyer can’t recruit the south after being at Utah. As we’ve seen with our last 2 coaches, Tennessee recruits itself.

Urban came in with Charlie Strong. Dooley's recruiting was the worst in the modern era he proved that a coach who isn't going to go out and work the HS circuit is going to run off this state's best talent.
