Official Jon Gruden thread XLI

Let me start by saying I believe Gruden is our man and we will know really soon. I have a relative, who is a JUCO coach, in Mississippi, and they send their better players to Mississippi State.

He told me today that Mullen is suppose to interview for the UT job tomorrow. I told him if he does interview it's because Sexton is trying to get him a raise at Mississippi State. I told him we have our coach and it should be announced this weekend. He said they do not want to lose Mullen and I told him we don't want Mullen :):):)

Just something I’ve been pondering...

We have several on here that I view as reliable insiders. Some believe Gruden is a lock others have predicted other coaches, but all say the AD has things so tight that only 2-3 other than Currie really have the full truth. Do we believe that any rumors or insiders on here miraculously are one of 2-3 or are all insiders info merely guesses based on breadcrumbs?

I think it could be Gruden and hope it is but it could just as easily be absolutely anyone else!

Hyams was recently asked by a listener if he planned to do his Christmas shopping on Amazon. Hyams response was “I don’t have time to go to South America”

Agreed but that what makes the Gruden threads so much fun , it’s always more than gruden and it never fails to live up to the billing no matter which side of the fence your on .

Agreed.

I am 100% pro Gruden.
I have no reason to think it's a done deal.
I do think there's a chance we land Gruden.
I don't think our chances are good.
I call bullshido when I see it.
I have fun with it all the same.

Similar to the LSU game being on ESPN...that had to be a sign, right? Gruden in Knoxville that afternoon and the game on ESPN in Primetime! Too many dots not to connect...:loco::thud:

This place is entertaining, if nothing else.

Condescension noted.

Merry Thanksgiving.

What if, now that he's retired, Peyton is Beav and Bubba?

What is Internet shill? - Definition from WhatIs.com

If you are paid to be an anonymous influencer at some point you need to show your work... without actually being identifiable.

The hex key hides a longer ID key that only means something to the other party he communicates with.
The guy may have legit info, but I believe he is being paid to influence.

He absolutely is, and so is Beav.

I have discussed this in depth before.

There is no debating if Peyton was there. Gruden was the debate. Right?

I don’t know. At this point you have to think all information is suspect on some level. But, Peyton being there doesn’t have any effect on if Gruden was. It just doesn’t make any sense to believe on one hand that the UTAD is simultaneously controlling all information and putting out smokescreens to cover a Gruden hire (a deal the PM is allegedly instrumental in orchestrating) then also just think they stroll together, hand in hand, to Calhoun’s on gameday to eat mediocre food in a very busy environment where you lose all control of info.

If you believe one, you almost have to ignore the other.

Here's a thought: if that WASN'T JG in the Calhoun's picture, shouldn't it be fairly easy to produce a front-view picture of who it really was? There aren't tens of thousands of people in Knoxville that would be invited to eat with PM.

I was told directly that the AD has everything on lockdown and that All information being leaked is coming from the Boosters ... so this makes Currie the big question mark in my mind... but I believe he has been helm in and if wants a lengthy tenor he needs to get Gruden

I personally believe that he was in Knoxville...
Fanning the flames.

When he was originally shown in the stands during the South Carolina game, I thought, Wow... That's so cool! He just loves football and enjoys sitting in the stands like other fans.

But thinking about it for a few weeks with all that has materialized...

I think that was to jump start the fans into thinking maybe he could be interested in being our next head coach.

I kinda feel the same way. If he was in Knoxville just to hang out with his son and catch a game he could have arranged a skybox and enjoyed the game in private. Makes no sense to sit in the stands out in the open.
