Been working since 8 this morning and then had to delivering our camper that I sold over in Lebanon.

I miss anything exciting today?

I’m pro Jon G but with the Peterson chatter of late I have a question. What do you pay Chris Peterson to come here? 7? 8? 9 million?

Just as most here aren't defending JJ and his actions. The point is, the overwhelming tone is neglecting the fact that the coaches may be culpable. Whether you, or anyone else, are defending them or not, you don't know what's occurred. So quit pretending....

I’m not pretending to do anything. The point of my original post and my second post was that his video alone was enough to get him kicked off the team. That’s why I don’t understand the criticism from certain people of Curries decision to kicking him off the team. I never shifted blame or acted like I knew anything from either side. I’m not sure why you are getting upset.

Currie booted JJ?

I'm on the Grude train until the wheels fall off, but if it's Petersen you won't hear much griping from me. He's a helluva coach.

I am with you but I will still be bummed if it's not Gruden, he has been one of my favorite coaches since he was with the Raiders. I just like his fire.

This is an old story that has cracked me up for years... But I decided to take a little liberty with it given we need a little humor while we wait on the official Gruden announcement.

Butch's Bricklayer Accident Report...

This is Butch's bricklaying accident report that was summited upon his firing.

Dear AD Currie:

I am writing in response to your request for additional information in Block #3 of the lost football game reporting form. I put "Poor Planning" as the cause of my record. You asked for a fuller explanation, and I trust the following details will be sufficient.

I am a bricklayer by trade. On the day of the Georgia beat down, I was working alone on the roof of our six-story stadium. When I completed my work, I found I had some bricks left over which when weighed later were found to weigh 500 lbs.

Rather than carry the bricks down by hand, I decided to lower them in a barrel by using a pulley which was attached to the side of the upper deck.

Securing the rope at ground level, I went up to the roof, swung the barrel out and loaded the bricks into it. Then I went down and untied the rope, holding it tightly to insure a slow descent of the 500 lbs of bricks. You will note on the accident reporting form that my weight is roughly 225 lbs.

Due to my surprise at being jerked off the ground so suddenly, I lost my presence of mind and forgot to let go of the rope. Needless to say, I proceeded at a rapid rate up the side of the stadium.

In the vicinity of the third level, I met the barrel which was now proceeding downward at an equally impressive speed. This explains the fractured skull, minor abrasions and the broken collarbone, as listed in Section 3, accident reporting form.

Slowed only slightly, I continued my rapid ascent, not stopping until the fingers of my right hand were two knuckles deep into the pulley which I mentioned in Paragraph 2 of this correspondence. Fortunately, by this time, I had regained my presence of mind and was able to hold tightly to the rope, in spite of the excruciating pain I was now beginning to experience.

At approximately the same time, however, the barrel of bricks hit the ground, and the bottom fell out of the barrel. Now devoid of the weight of the bricks, the barrel weighed approximately 50 lbs. I refer you again to my weight.

As you might imagine, I began a rapid descent down the side of the stadium. In the vicinity of the third level, I met the barrel coming up. This accounts for the two fractured ankles, broken tooth and severe lacerations of my legs and lower body.

Here my luck began to change slightly. The encounter with the barrel seemed to slow me enough to lessen my injuries when I fell onto the pile of bricks and fortunately only three vertebrae were cracked.

I am sorry to report, however, as I lay there on the pile of bricks, in pain, unable to move and watching the empty barrel several stories above me, I again lost my composure and presence of mind and let go of the rope.

Thanks...Well Done

Was just about to post the same thing, but add sitting in a stranded car on the side of a highway for 3 hours :)... Gruden still on?

As I said in the Petersen thread, I always deemed him to be a significantly "out of reach" hire, even more so than Gruden.

If Currie misses on Gruden but somehow manages to get Petersen on the podium, I am more than willing to give him his due. That guy is a coach. I think Gruden would agree.

I want Gruden, but if that were not to happen, Currie ought to make Petersen call the cops to get him away from him.

Just caught up, and heading to bed. Probably another 5 hr catch up when I get back on.

Night peckers.

I’m sure he had the final say. Don’t know specifics but contrary to what most think his instagram video was a bad look for the program and warranted him getting tossed. You reap what you sew. It’s not about one person. It’s about Tennessee.

Derek Dooley amassed the worst record of head coaches with more than two seasons in Tennessee history, and the worst overall since 1906. And FCBJ was about 64%'ish before UT. Let's just keep hoping for a little upgrade here and there, shan't we ? Maybe we can win home/home against SC and Missouri if we get enough leadership reps.
