JJ was supposed to be the team leader this year at least on offense. That went south quickly.

Hey doc, I've got a red protuberance about the size of a marble shooter right up in my Grude... any idea on what that could be?

How are people defending JJ and his video? That's punk stuff, you gotta have more sense than that.

Not defending what JJ did, but I think there was a far better way to handle it. Especially in that time frame. Unless something else comes out, like he attacked a coach, I he should have been suspended and let the next coach handle it.

Sorry, I realize my explanation may have been confusing. I was saying I didn’t hear it from someone who would have an agenda in this. Essentially it was a leadership failure on the part of the players and the staff. As the head coach, it ultimately comes back on you. But we should all be hesitant about jumping all over Butch and the coaching staff. Jauan made poor decisions, starting in September and was not held accountable, and today was the culmination of those poor decisions and a lack of leadership.

To further the point, ask yourself, who are the leaders on this team? What players are the leaders? Who’s calling out Jauan? Who’s calling out John Kelly? It’s not there. I’ve been a part of some special teams, both athletically and in the business world. In those teams, you had strong leadership from the top (coach, boss, etc.) but you also had accountability from your brothers. That’s been a major hole since Dobbs, Barnett, Kamara, Sutton, etc left.

Enter Hurd and others.

A fish rots from the head. I understand where you're trying to go, just don't agree with it, semantics or not. A team is only as good as its senior leadership (no, not class rank, AD and coaches). You alluded to this, but you're still placing blame on kids who have answered to said leadership. It's counterintuitive.

I'm all in, but I quit playing golf a few years ago! I can drive a golf cart and hand out beers!

Ever get on one of those rides and realize too late that the bar that holds you in your seat isn't locked in place? Deathgrip.

Yes. I haven't felt like that until tonight. I just realized a few really important things a couple of hours ago and you just described it perfectly.

I can agree with that. Although I will also say there's probably a lot more to the story as well, so the punishment may fit the "crime". Hard for any of us to say
