Let’s play this weekend out for sanity’s sake. We have our guy. More than likely won’t be announced till Tuesday and presser Wednesday next week just looking at it from a MNF perspective. So beginning Friday, we will begin to hear tons of reports about Currie meeting with Mullen, contract amounts, potential staffers it will appear all but done. At that time, trolls will begin to invade this thread with a vengeance. It will be an onslaught. Then, when Sunday/Monday rolls around and no announcement for Mullen happens, the obvious conclusion will begin to surface again and leaks will happen at a rapid clip. Reporters will begin to question themselves and how they missed it (think when Trump won Florida. Not a political post, it was only at that moment that those who said it could never happen realized it was happening) and even say they kinda knew but didn’t want to say anything... enjoy the weekend and weather the storm. Because a storm is brewing and the hero will let it happen. That’s how I see it anyway.

I pointed out last night JAV was off the path on this coaching search and he comes out to say gruden bought the Haslam lake house and a membership at Cherokee this morning.

If you read these 247 and VQ updates you would think UT would be fortunate to get Greg shciano. It should be viewed as journalism malpractice.

One of the primary operating core principles from Apple founder, Steve Jobs was "when behind, leapfrog". If UT wants to continue in mediocrity, or even elevated mediocrity, then we will make a hire that most will feel comfortable with, and we'll all justify how "he's the guy". If we want to leapfrog the competition, then we have to be prepared to do the extreme, like Bama. I'm back on the Gruden train...sorry I temporarily got off at the Mediocrityville train stop.

So once Gruden is announced, can this thread only be accessed by a PW from people who have been all-in and actually posting in this thread? There's gonna be so many "I knew all along" types coming in here once it happens.

Just a theory but any chance Florida has Kelly wrapped up and to make UT look like second fiddle they feed this information to the news outlets?

Its amazing gone last 2 years. Midday Toy Story / Christmas parade usually pretty cool. Even had a battalion of Green / Red Stormtroopers due to some Star Wars event going on. At the fireworks finale at night they'll blow fake snow all down Main Street at Magic Kingdom after the fireworks while everyone walks out / closing time

I can't say that I'm all in, I have to see it to believe it but I am firmly in the camp that believes there is more to the rumors this time around than 2012. I hope it's Gruden, it would be huge for the program, but I just can't say that I believe 100% that it's happening, I've been hurt too many times by our coaching searches.
