Yeah thatÂ’s fair. To be clear, IÂ’m not taking any responsibility off the coaching staff. They have failed these kids. ThereÂ’s no mistaking that. But weÂ’re not talking about 13-year old players. These are grown men who have to take responsibility for their actions, reputations, and social media presence. At some point in your life, blaming your mistakes (or excusing then) on your leaders is an unacceptable response. ThatÂ’s all.

We can split hairs over exactly whoÂ’s to blame but we can all agree this is a loss for all of us. Players, coaches, future coaches, fans, and school reputation.

I, personally, place the blame squarely at the top. Not that Jennings, or anyone else, should be pardoned for their actions, but the "trickle down" could rightfully be the reasoning for his actions.

Not trying to play semantics, but want to be clear that there's no debating this team has been hung out to dry in all facets of character and leadership development.

I hope, he clearly canÂ’t captain a ship this big

If Currie don't come through, I hope he's gone Monday. This ain't rocket surgery. Just watched Saban talking about the Iron Bowl, I know, blasphemy, but would love to be back to those days where we're talking championships and not leadership reps, which we apparently didn't get enough of with FCBJ at the helm....just sayin'

People like you are so utterly delusional. Sure, we all want Gruden, but IF Currie goes after Gruden, and IF he offers $20mil a year, and full control, and a lifetime gift card to hooters, and God forbid Gruden declines anyway, youÂ’ll still be calling for his head.

Yeah I think we see pretty eye-to-eye here. I think the “trickle-down” definitely played a role into his actions. I just don’t see them as the “reasoning” for them. But I’m with you. It all starts at the top.

This also is why teams are hesitant to fire coaches mid-season and go the interim route. Not saying Butch had control or that this situation wouldÂ’ve been avoided if he was still the coach, but the perception will be that things got even more out of control after he was let go.

Blasted all the coaches because he felt privledged and hasnÂ’t done a thing with the team since injury

Per Vol92

Lol...
Is this the same coaching staff that went for it on 4 and 1 on our 20 yrd line during a rainstorm?
JJ gets free lunch in the state of Tennessee for the rest of his life.

I don't know much, but from what I understand is that Brady Hoke is a good person. Players seems to like him. I don't think JJ's comments were directed towards him.

You don't want a player bashing the school on social media, but what I saw was JJ voicing his disapproval of the coaching staff. He never said anything bad about Tennessee. Actually, in my opinion, it seemed he was very passionate about our program. It is sad that he spoke out about the problems at Tennessee and what is truly holding the program back, yet instead of listening they dismissed him from the team. It might not have been the best way to voice his opinion, but I thought Currie was all about our student athletes.

Plus what a great message this sends to our recruits and team before they play Vanderbilt trying to avoid the first ever 8 loss season in program history.

If you let one guy get away with this stuff, you're opening yourself for anyone team to do the same thing. You have to have one set of rules for everyone and stand firm in your punishment.

JJ spent the entire year away from the team. Didn't attend the games or stand on the sideline with his teammates. Then he wanted to play in the last game of the year and Hoke said no. I don't blame him. Someone has to be in charge and it's not the players.

Yep, sure will, cause being able to sell is part of his job imo. And if he can't, then get someone who can. Sorry for the attitude but I've been waiting too long for this program to turn around and I'm not willing to wait another 10yrs and get fed another (by then) 500mil stadium upgrade and still be the 3rd or 4th best team in the East. Not doing that, not again. Thanks but no thanks if that's the plan.
