IMO, the most comforting and scariest realization as you get older and become an adult (I'm 24) is that... No one knows what they are doing. Neighbors, the person in front of you at the store, your parents, teachers. They are all just putting on a facade of confidence just like I am, and they don't have any more figured out about the world that I do. It's comforting. Then you realize, the people in charge, and the people in power... They don't know what they are doing either. That's scary.

Anyway. All of that to say, Occam's razor folks. Look at what's most likely. If we assume the rumor that Gruden turned down the job is coming from legit sources, then what is more likely: The AD has so much control over the situation that they can actually manipulate leaked information how they want to. Or... The information is true.

In the NFL. And has a Super Bowl ring. And, celebrity status.

I think it has more to do with Gruden as a symbol than a coach. He is a symbol that UT is willing to pay dearly to be competitive again, and go after the biggest of big fish, and one with many ties to UT. His value, I think, isn’t as a coach, but as a figurehead who can assemble an all star coaching cast and can wow recruits from anywhere in the nation. Plus, he does know and love football.

For a gif, you have to get the actual gif image URL link, can't just copy a Google link. What I do is "open image in new tab," which gives the correct URL for the gif. Then for use here, use [ IMG ] and [ /IMG ] without spaces. Also, take out the "s" from any "https" links.

He won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay for one.
For 2 he was an NFL coach over .500 (Saban was 15-17. Chip Kelly was 28-36)
He has an attitude that we like. Can't speak on anything other than that.

Interesting ... I almost, almost quit the ministry and went to truck driving. The very week I was going to start CDL school, I wound up preaching in a little country church in South Carolina. Been here ever since. I guess the Lord knew what He was doing, even if I did not.

Sorry to hear about your dad.
Faith in God is a very personal thing.
At some point, the God of mom and dad has to become "my" God.
Glad He's yours.

When ever my wife asks me a question on something that a normal adult should know, I always respond with "I need an adult" I'm 35 mind you, as she likes to point at when I say this.

So then I tell her, well yeah but I need someone who's been adulting longer, an adulter adult.

That's what it all boils down to, trying to find that one adult who is better being an adult than you
