I will never understand the need some people have to try and rain on others picnic. If I want to believe in Grudenism, then mind your own darn business and leave me alone. I don't feel the need to talk about how stupid the idea of Kelley or Patterson or Peterson in their threads. You don't want to believe, fine go to your own happy place.
To all you preachers out there, thanks for what you do. As a 3rd generation PK and part time minister I appreciate the hard work you do. Always try and treat others with kindness and mercy. That's my motto and I'm sticking with it.
SOON!!

Bingo.
IMO, folks need to quit moping because they're not hearing some hot new grumor every 10 minutes. This stuff takes time. It's like people *****in' because the microwave popcorn is popping to slow...

It does take too long to pop!

The broken person has to be willing. Haven't spoken to him in 6 years....after a previous estrangement of 10 years.

One can only try for so long...I did, and finally had to turn my full attention toward the family I had made. I've never looked back.

Hey Boro (and anyone else), this is my current favorite song. Some girls at the church found this and started singing it. Check it out. The girl singing this is the one who wrote it I think. Might be a blessing.

Interesting ... I almost, almost quit the ministry and went to truck driving. The very week I was going to start CDL school, I wound up preaching in a little country church in South Carolina. Been here ever since. I guess the Lord knew what He was doing, even if I did not.

Sorry to hear about your dad.
Faith in God is a very personal thing.
At some point, the God of mom and dad has to become "my" God.
Glad He's yours.
Wasn't his "choice" to leave the ministry....his abusive hypocrisy became too apparent, parents split etc. It was just a "job" with flexible hours and a car allowance to him....not the calling it should have been.

He was toxic to my family for years, and everyone associated is better off now. I'm thankful he taught me what kind of husband and father not to be.

On the last part....well said, and Amen.

It was just an observation regarding a previous rumor. Trying to stay positive. Not sure where you get moping.

Trying to make Tennessee great doesn't sound good. Sounds like he tried buy failed
Trying to negotiate a deal with Gruden! If you want to read too much into it he also said it is just a matter when...so done deal because they have been talking to Gruden and need extra money from Haslam.

I read VN every day. I have no insider info or connections, so I don't post must. I told myself I would not get caught up in Grumors.... But after several hours, hundreds of pages, and much work lost, I am fully on this rollercoaster. I've been to the point of "he is our next coach", then a fake text later, I'm at a new low. Now Albert giving me hope again. Why do we do this to ourselves? And who is gonna burn this thread down tonight? haha. Either way it goes, I just hope Tennessee is at it's rock bottom right now and that it is all up hill from here. I'm subbed.

I think I might have stumbled on something. There is a 3rd Gruden son still playing football at his high school in Tampa. Gruden famously is an assistant. If I'm about to sign my life away, I would have the caveat that I get to finish this season. Once I'm announced as head coach, I can't. Even the appearance of impropriety can have serious repercussions.

I pastor a small church in rural Indiana. I don't get paid because my wife is a dentist and we're doing okay, (I've had to swallow a lot of pride over the years).

Even though I don't get a salary, I do it because I love it. It's what I've been called to do. It would drive me crazy if I ever had to stop.

Maybe it's the same thing with Gruden. People wonder why he would leave a nice, comfortable job to go back into coaching. But if that is what he loves, then it would make less sense for him to stay away. Some people work at a job and some people work for their passion. It is a blessing when they're the same.

A Pastor that likes John Wick! You're Awesome BRO!
