And I consult with the AmLaw 100. Totally agree . Some of these descriptions of negotiations and high level recruitment are hysterical . My sense is there was a channel of communication established . Interest to keep a channel open expressed back nothing more till protocol allows . Just my two cents..

I agree with this, if we are throwing the bank at Jon Freakin Gruden you don't say well sorry Jon,we can't give you a couple more million for those assistants that you want- no deal. They would make that money back in a heartbeat by just hiring him, we the fans would go nuts and spend our money like never before out of pure elation and excitement! Especially if it is true that Currie has wanted Gruden as coach for quite some time now. If assistant money is the reason you are hearing,DTO. Thanks for your info as always though.

Yes...posted something along that line earlier. I'm not aware of a layoff, but then I don't know anyone at ESPN? I do know his salary at ESPN would soon be under review, and that he was somewhat disenchanted with their political activism, and the NFL's "kneeling" controversy.

On page 251 of a VolNation thread that ended after 588 pages, someone named GuRu shared this Grumor:

Babyvol is implying that a high school coach in fla is friends with gruden and resigned this week and it's the same type of deal as the south Pitt coach. Name is Tom Carter. Anyone know if this is true

At least part of the story was true. Carter had indeed stepped down from Gulf High the previous week after going 2-18 in two seasons. Someone named jefferson shared a link to our story about it.

Who is this? It has started in here.

I know enough to know that if a deal was really really close with JG and if Currie and the power $$$$ brokers were on the same damn page then the deal would have happened, that is if JG really wanted to coach again.

So we have some options for what has occurred possibly:

1. this is all BS

2. JG doesnt want to coach in college and never did and if true then Currie is a wanker for thinking JG had interest

3. the power $$$$ brokers weren't together

4. missdirection.

He has answered the questions about The Honors correctly, and it is my experience that folks with the kind of cash to have a membership there don't waste time trolling sports fans desperate for relevancy.

Agreed.
It is just the way things are supposed to be done. You don’t make it all public before the deal is inked.
