It still comes down to checks and balances and the wording of the contract. If Gruden doesn't want to do the caravan tour because it takes time away from film study or whatever find another option that works to accomplish the same thing. Crap, open up Neyland for a day and give the man a mike at the 50 yard line.

You can not get everyone outside of Kentucky. Most of talent is in Fla. Fisher has way more resources and is good but should be better with talent. Could Fisher recruit nationialy? FSU does not have to sell itself like a Tennessee would because most kids in fla likes Fla,FSU or Miami

I agree. My info said he kept adding more demands until it became obvious he was never going to accept the job. That's why we have moved on.

I know some of you don't think Fisher would be a good hire, but I could live with it..FSU won 10 games this year and I think 9? last year if I'm not mistaken..Plus he is an excellent recruiter,just look at his recruiting classes from the last couple of years..He gets top notch talent at every position..No,he wouldn't be a homerun hire, but he would be a solid hire,IMO.

That being said, I'm still all Gruden until someone else is standing at the podium.

Another thing to consider:

If Hart was mad about boosters going around him, why did he go along with firing Dooley? Especially before Kentucky? Why would he want the coaching search clock started then instead of waiting until a closer date when he would be talking to his alleged top targets?

If he was truly mad about it he wouldn't have gone along with it, in my opinion.

Doesn't add up...

Who cares anymore? not this guy.. hire whoever.. watson brown could prob use the $. his brother won a nc at texas.
Our AD is a joke and there is nothing we can do about it except blah blah blah. Bad thing is, I am a tax payer. Isn't shuler in congress? Dave hart, really, works for us.

I agree and I guess it is possible that Strong walked off the field and told his players how he appreciates them and then goes over and has an interview with Hart. Sounds odd and disrespectful to his team IMO. Would he have not wanted to wait at least 24 hours to be interviewed. Again, we are all operating on assumptions. But the Cliff Notes suggests that Hart interviewed Strong yesterday and there is no way on God's green earth that this took place before last nights game. That is my point. We are being led to believe that these interviews are taking place at times that make no sense because (if in Oklahoma and not interviewing Stoops or Gundy) why else would going to Oklahoma be important enough to be mention ( Believe by Hubbs)?

Excuse me but I happen to care to who we hire..I have every right to post my opinion as does everyone else on here..Just ignore me if you don't like what I have to say..Sheesh.:jpshakehead:

I'm still on the Gruden Bandwagon, however, if I'm going to consider a different coach, and please don't flame too hard, I think I want James Franklin.

Did y'all see him at the State championship last night? That dudes a friggin ROCKSTAR!

I can't believe Vandy got that guy. Blind squirrel, I guess. Besides Stoops or maybe, just maybe, Fisher, I don't think there's anyone else that has the potential to do better. He would bring electricity we haven't seen from our coach in, well...maybe ever!

Thoughts?

Don't be an a**. My point is not that they would realistically get these coaches. My point is that people (trolls) coming in here saying that Vol fans are being naive or stupid for wanting big name coaches have a loser mentality
