Good morning folks. Just wanted to check in and see how everybody is doing.

I see we have moved on to the "we didn't really want him anyways" phase of the mourning process.

Could this be how Neyland will look next year if the right coach isn't hired.

I hope Hart is not that stupid but it appears as if he is right now. There's just too much of this that does not make sense, doesn't add up. It's just my opinion, but I
don't think it's over with JG yet. And if it is, then Hart should be relieved of his duties like yesterday!!!

lol I still want him but I think it's wise to keep an open mind and learn about the other coaches available.

I'm starting to think somebody should have asked Hart where he thought Tennessee's "rightful place in the SEC is" he is a Bama grad, that could mean "always second to Bama" or even "mediocre SEC team"

Just heard a great point on the radio...

If Hart was AD at Alabama and was looking for a new football coach, does anyone really think that he would actually consider hiring Fedora, Golden, Strong, or some other lackluster coach much less even interview them!!!!

Hell no he wouldn't.

This garbage is on Hart!

The salary money for Gruden and his assistants has already been pledged by donors and Hart doesn't want to pay Gruden's assistants more than Bama's assistants!!!

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but we ain't Alabama. We are a bottom feeding loser with mediocre talent and a pitiful incoming recruiting class. We are coming off one of the worst coaching disasters in the history of college football. Who do you expect us to be interviewing? Strong and Fedora are pretty good considering where we are sitting currently.

That is why the Gruden deal must be closed at all cost. We should thank our lucky stars he has shown interest in us.

Ha ha - wow! You guys are amazing. I'll give it to you - you are committed to this, against all evidence to the contrary. More power to you.

This should be required reading for everybody who thinks Strong or Fedora would be a good hire.

If Saban bolts for the NFL, will they be hiring Fedora?

could be,either way he is def not being considered for the job(no source) just trust me:p

Inreviewing the NCAA Committee on Infractions-
Tressel could be hired but his restrictions by the COI for his cause penalty are strange- they are to be enforced for five years (like an additional probation "double secret probation")
but they only have direct effect as written for five weeks. During those first five weeks of his first season he can attend no meetings, practices, or games. He would be allowed ( as I read it) to participate in preseason responsibilities but has to sit out the first five entirely. His team also would not be eligible for a bowl game his first season (like Urban now)
What is the upside:

A coach with:

1 BCS National Championship
4 Div I -AA Chp
7 Big Ten championships
won 81.7% of career games played

In summary- hire a great staff to lead for the absentee 5 weeks, focus on a great rebuilding first season with a battle tested coach. Know we will not be in a bowl year one - which a marquee bowl year one would be unlikely anyway.
Great return on investment it seems, considering the options and fearing another coach we would have to look up.
All we have to do is just walk the line for the duration of the show cause (like we are supposed to be doing anyway) and it goes away. 5 weeks of penalty then probation. I think we can handle this if all else fails in the search.

That is where Alabama was when they decided to pony up and get back to winning when they hired Saban

You folks need to move your energy to Strong and lobby for him. I think Gruden's agent more than clearly stated Gruden never wanted to be here and Hart said he never was on his list. Fantasy world = true

Strong himself clearly took his name out of this search as well so how is it he's still on the table after denials but gruden isn't?

When the program has nearly 100mil less in reserves than your biggest rival and your AD just came from there, it's very easy to see that the 18mil was for much more than just hiring a coach. It was step one is building the reserves fund back to where it should be.

Pffft.

And when we average 60,000 in attendance next year over 7 home games?

Come on.

Don't find the timing a little weird when that $18 million came into play? The day after firing Dooley?

Come on.
