I'm still all in. None of this makes sense. I believe Lemonte yesterday was equivalent to getting up and walking away at a car dealership. I myself, in negotiations have done this exact thing. When the other party needs you more than you need them, you make them seem foolish till you get everything you want.

Maybe I'm being foolish but I say with my Alabama brother at the Bama game this year and had to sit with all the Bama fans as they waited for Saban to finally run off the field so they could give him a standing ovation. I want that.

Just heard a great point on the radio...

If Hart was AD at Alabama and was looking for a new football coach, does anyone really think that he would actually consider hiring Fedora, Golden, Strong, or some other lackluster coach much less even interview them!!!!

Hell no he wouldn't.

This garbage is on Hart!

The salary money for Gruden and his assistants has already been pledged by donors and Hart doesn't want to pay Gruden's assistants more than Bama's assistants!!!

Now, lets assume this is all true and Gruden was never on our list and Gruden was never interested.

Then by god, Hart should begin now putting him on the list and throw a wad of cash and control at him college football has never seen. I don't care how much he loves the NFL. There are some things you just can't say no to.

I was told a while back that JG wouldn't be coaching for a while longer and the reason behind it but I have never seen anyone on here post anything similar. Today on Twitter I saw someone post the same thing I was told and now it has me wondering. But do I believe it? Not completely. We are all in this together. :thumbsup:

Morning all! Been lurking for a long time and decided to finally post. Let me start by saying that my hubby and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the Gruden threads! I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for making this coaching search such a fun and enjoyable experience. As someone put it previously, this is much more exciting then most of the football games we watched this season.

I guess this morning it seems less likely that we'll end up with Gruden but until Hart brings out someone different, Hubby and I are all in! Even if it's not him, we'll still be saying Go Vols! :rock:

sorry but if we end up with him Fulmer being fired would be the biggest travesty in the history of coaching circle jerks. Fulmer needed to go but not so we could replace him with his lesser cousin from the midwest.

I think if we get Strong it's a play to keep money in house and rebuild our coffers for the 1st time in 5 years so we'd keep Chaney, Pittman, Graham and Hinshaw.

JMO based on nothing else.

For me that's actually a plus. This University has got to get back to having a reserve fund that can compete with our rivals for us to be sustainable and healthy. Adding a defensive HC like strong would complement Chaney.

When the program has nearly 100mil less in reserves than your biggest rival and your AD just came from there, it's very easy to see that the 18mil was for much more than just hiring a coach. It was step one is building the reserves fund back to where it should be.

Tressell makes no sense. Fire great basketball coach for lying to the NCAA only to hire a football coach that did the same thing on a much bigger scale. No way
