Risk? If he jumps in and succeeds his approval rating goes up 30 points. If he jumps in and fails his approval rating goes up 15 points. Not much of a political risk there. Now it could affect his relationship with UT and ability to work with the BOT in the future and some other things, so I'm not saying he'll do it, and if he did do it it would most likely be behind the scenes anyway.

Big Jim will get his way on his own accord. Having Bill in the power position that he is in just gives them even more influence because if someone does something stupid they can just point to the big stick, Gov. Bill. IMO, Bill wont even have to do anything because no one at UT is, or should be, so stupid to challenge the Haslam family. They're interests in UT are pure and have done more for the University than all the other boosters combined. You don't isolate a family of billionaire boosters like that.
