And, in return, the boosters can keep their money in their Swiss Bank Accounts and tell the AD to find their own damn money.

Except they wont. They will be just like everyone on here talking about staying home and not going to games. Thats all good until next August when the opening game is coming uo lol.

I truly believe when we find out who the coach will be, it is because our boosters, fans, players and yes even the UTAD know whats best for UT. I think our football program has slipped too far and they realize that. Football is king in college athletics and brings in all money for all other sports. Hiring a 2nd tier coach at this point would be the nail in the coffin. Our boosters would never let that happen. Too much UT pride!! Gruden or not, the next coach they choose will be better than Dooley and will bring wins back to UT.

Better than Dooley is not a great qualification. A second tier coach is coming unfortunately.

Yea I learned more about beer, moonshine, and other things while following this. May as well have fun with it.

I agree. I couldn't believe the inside knowledge some people actually had of the moonshine trade.

I honestly thought before moonshiners broke big, that just a few of us up here in the hills knew of Popcorn.

Turns out, this moonshine thing is pretty big. Who knew!

Nothing against you Ron, but I am honestly ready for Hart and Co to say the next coach of UT is.... Al Golden or someone of that degree.

Well, then Cheek should fire Hart or whoever has that power and get this thing back in line.

I think the longer this goes on the more likely it will be Gruden. If Hart hasn't hired Strong, Fisher, whoever by Wednesday I think this thread starts to pick up major steam. No reason those other coaches can't start immediately. Gruden might have contractual ties to finish before he can take the job.

It was also the TFP's front page story. That doesn't happen unless the sources are thoroughly vetted by the sports editor AND the chief editor of the newspaper.

I am afraid you guys might be giving a small market newspaper too much credit here.

I hope I am wrong.

The Chattanooga times free press might make the Knoxville News Sentinal look like Forbes or the Economist, but so would the Enquirer.

I am not sold that this guys credibility is untarnished because of his career of working in a relatively minor newspaper.

I see your point, I have to ask though why are you so adamant in your beliefs?

Hey duds..we have an official Night shift thread in the Pub now. :hi:

Oh, Brave Hart, how you tug at our heart-strings. Your infatuation with Jimbo shall bring a low to moderate level of excitement to our weekends and beatings every third Saturday in October.

I don't see anyone in the knoxville news arena "staking their career" on their story/sources like Hargis did/is.

I flow back and forth on my beliefs here, but I can tell you that I feel rock solid when it comes to Hargis' story.

"Kevin Pipes was not on TSR yesterday representing Smoky Mtn Knife Works, that was a manager at the store on the show."

Thanks GMan for the clarity. Ainge reported, Friday I think, that UT was going to visit "Travis" next Tuesday about donating. A caller said he was general manager. I thought at the time that this guy was probably not a major booster and that that UT's visit was probably perfunctory. Not sure that Kevin Pipes would qualify for major booster status either.
