Im hoping its 4 Grude...if not it better be for tha players.. we gonna need to pay deez kids to be any good.

There is more to this. Time will tell. And if not, I will be embarrassed for our university and fans and also sick to my stomach that our AD are so incompetent.

Don't hide it....divide it. Puff puff pass...that has got to be some good stuff. Got everybody in a fantasy world, even after being told they living in a fantasy world, they reject it,and confuse it with reality. Know where I can get some? LOL

worked for him...twice

Why do people keep referencing the Chicago Tribune article to say Gruden turned us down? It plainly references something from WNML-AM, who apparently have nothing concrete. It is just more bad journalism.

"Gruden, currently an ESPN analyst, told the school to withdraw his name from consideration for the vacancy left when Derek Dooley was fired before the Volunteers' final game this season, WNML-AM reported Friday in Knoxville, Tenn."

Any agent worth a d*mn doesn't burn his client's bridges. Take Lamonte with a grain of salt. Pure posturing. My money is on Gruden coming.

That is the problem with UT. Settling.

After reading Hargis' articles and listening to several of his interviews, I choose to Gruden forward. I am all in until the end. Hargis is not just some blogger or radio personality and he's the only one that has come out with any real solid info. His info supports what the OGs have been saying. And if you go back to the original OG timeline, they said it would look like the deal fell apart, and then everything would be worked out.

I looked at the TFP article, he just talked about what other sources said (Gruden turned us down) I don't think he changed his stance at all.

what LWS said last night contradicts what Gruden's agent said, too. I think people should believe what they want to believe. No need to lecture anyone that they are wrong or misleading, because the press and long time insiders are all over the place.

Babyvol told everyone when Dooley would be fired WAY before Dooley getting fired was a foregone conclusion. To my knowledge, he is the only other person I have seen come out and say it after the Miss St. game, besides myself. His info is very solid and feeds in line with the info I'm told.

Again, I cannot vouch for where he gets his information, but I can say that it is solid

And this point lines up precisely with the OGs in this thread, as they said from the beginning that the decision on Dooley was made after the Miss St loss.

Nuttn wrong with still havn a lil hope.....u seen the coaching list??? its terrible...

I think the list looks like garbage.

Which one of those other coaches can out recruit FL, Bama, and GA every year and develop the talent? If they can't then it's a waste of time and money for the university and the fan base.

I don't see 5 star recruits being excited about an up and coming person coaching a program that has been out of the spotlight for a long time now. 1998 isn't going to count for much soon, if it even does now, when our recruits weren't even born then (damn I feel old saying that).

Can't recruit tradition if our only tradition is losing. It's gonna take someone with some pull to get us back into the spotlight. That is why I think Gruden is a great short term fix that may go long term depending on what he wanted to do.

The influx of recruits would help us get back to a level playing field with the rest of the SEC.

One interesting fact is nobody can name there sources? Everything is according to sources. So far the majority of so called "sources" are incorrect. Im sticking with this is all a smoke screen

he.ll ya bra tell em

If we have to go to a plan b coach ( I'm still believing in gruden) why not Gary Patterson. The guy has significantly elevated the game at tcu. He has made an essentially no name program competitive in the same neighborhood as Texas and Texas a&m. That is significant- this guy can coach.
Sorry if this has been addressed.
Just don't understand why he is not mentioned with the names like strong and fisher. I think what he has achieved and setting in which he achieved it represents a stronger body of work

If my memory serves me correctly, he was the only one, though, that gave the most accurate and correct timeline for it. A lot of people you consider to be "OGs" went from "after this game" to "after that game", etc, etc.

No, they did not. OV, Boro, Jay, DTO, Lex, Gman, and whoever else I left out have said from the beginning that the decision was made on Dooley after Miss St, and from their understanding, it didn't matter what happened the rest of the season. They never backed off of that point or anything else they said about what info they received.

Also, jimbo fisher is friends with dave hart. If jimbo fisher is the lead candidate and hart turned down gruden, something smells funny here.
