Check out the Cliff Notes. Lamonte has confirmed nothing ever existed. I understand that is agent speak, but it appears to be over.

Dammit bC, I was an early fan of yours...really wanted to appreciate what you were bringing to the table...

My attention started to waiver with the talk of "If it were done" MY OFFICE would have a part in it...I do not believe that to be true...

Im sure thats what the Knox media felt as well...

Then you really started to waiver with each passing comment that suggested if you werent fed the right thing from your coworkers (who are the real players) that you werent sure this was happening...while others have been all in until its all out...all the while youre proclaiming to be an OG...loudly.

I dont want to seem like an attacker here, maybe it will come across that way...and feel free to ignore me...

Not saying you cant change your position, but do you know the position you just placed Oldvol, Boro, and others in, who you have been back channel communicating with all this time, with talks of exchanged phone numbers, emails, and texts?

Was it not told to you as recently as yesterday to stick with a conversation that you had with someone of mutual interest on this board?

That really essentially tells us either where you are, what you have thought about their info (given that we all believe them to be solid) all along, or you simply never had a stance, and ebb and flow with the passing of info...

I am now convinced you deal in the legal field somehow because those folks are the only ones who take circumstantial evidence (anonymous media, unsubstantiated media reports etc.) as proof positive of a crime (or in this case a HC hire) committed...

Yet there is NO OFFICIAL STATEMENT from anyone involved. Nothing signed, t's crossed, i's dotted, confirmed, with Jon MAFAKIN Gruden, Dave MAFAKING Hart, or UT MAFAKING AD's stamp of approval...

An OG will stand up and say "yeah, we were wrong, fed some bad info..." but they will take their lumps...positioning yourself by pushing away from the Grudenite Identification, changing your avi, and slinking away...now you want to be on the "He aint coming train..." so you can rally with those who will no doubt come in here to tear you to shreds had you not done so...not cool Brah.

Its ok though, I understand your frustration. I still dont see another name being SERIOUSLY tossed about anywhere...lots of names being dropped, but noones really debating them...media or fanwise.

Sorry bro. But you put a bad image out for those who are still sticking to their guns...whom youve associated closely with.

Heard of John Fox? Tom Coughlin? Norv Turner? It's really not all that odd at all. NFL teams generally look for guys with NFL head coaching experience. Gruden is a coach who's got a 95-81 record, and has won a Super Bowl, which is why so many NFL teams want the guy.

This fan base is more divided than ever. And it will continue to be until BIG money is spent on a coach. You get what you pay for. James Franklin and the like will create apathy more quickly than if we decided to move to the big east.

Don't forget that after Hyams said Gruden cancelled a meeting on Wednesday that Hyams then said that Gruden declined interest via a phone call LAST week.

Then, this unnamed Tennessee "official" tells Hyams that UT was in contact with Gruden earlier this week. National media runs with this story.

Now, Gruden's agent says he didn't get a call from Hart until the 13th day of the coaching search.

LaMonte quotes say it all. Nobody is reporting the same thing and he wouldn't be the first agent to lie. Having said that, seems to be over
