Agreed but with our financial state right now, you don't hire a coach that you're gonna have to wait and see after their first season when a guy like Gruden would sellout his first orange and white game.

I see what you're saying but if rock star coach is asking for $50 mil guaranteed over 10 years and wait and see guy is asking for $8 mil guaranteed over 5, I don't think it's quite as cut and dry.

I'm not saying its a no brainer to ignore Gruden. Im just saying there's an argument the other way.

I don't think it's Hart/Stoops vs. Boosters/Gruden. I don't think Stoops is involved at all. There's a lot of bad information out there. Which suggests to me that there are very few people who have any idea what is happening. Everyone just needs to sit back and let it unfold.

Stoops it is not but if you put Fisher there I can believe it. Let's say it is the case that Hart and the boosters are battling, what happens next? Can the boosters over rule the AD in this instance?

I would like to know if the OG's have had any sources change their opinion. That would be telling. Absolutely no news would be one thing a change in the news would be different.

SBV was on here late last night after the TFP article, saying the info about Hart was NOT true.

In. 100%. I just don't think it's over and almost positive we aren't getting the truth from the media. I don't believe the media is lying, I think they're being misled.

The bad thing is, I think Hubbs and company know they are being misled, too, or at least know that this has become a source war between Chattanooga and Knoxville media.

Volquest and 247 are doomed if Gruden is hired, and I couldn't be happier about it.

At this point I have heard from a very prominent former member of the AD that was there for decades, a former player, a current players family, and one of the biggest booster-supporters there is (sits with the Haslams usually), that completely confirm what Hubbs reported and said the blame laid far more on Grudens end than with UT.

Believe anything you want, everybody be their own person. I have enough corroboration to draw my conclusion but that is up to each and every one of you to draw yours.

No offense BC but you have been all over the board during this process.

I really want Gruden bad, but I will support any coach that dons the orange and white. If we get a Fisher, Stoops or Strong or anyone else, if we put the money into assembling a solid staff we will be relevant very quickly.

if i have this correct:

hart was in oklahoma, stoops is stepping down, strong is replacing meyer at ohio state, dooley is going to be our new AD, unc/duke joining sec in 2014, kiffen follwing his dream job to eagles (nfl) with dad, gruden said yes and hart told him to back off, pretty much leaves us with fisher as the most reliable candidate...
