hart was in oklahoma, stoops is stepping down, strong is replacing meyer at ohio state, dooley is going to be our new AD, unc/duke joining sec in 2014, kiffen follwing his dream job to eagles (nfl) with dad, gruden said yes and hart told him to back off, pretty much leaves us with fisher as the most reliable candidate...

I wore my UT Vols T-shirts around campus when I was in school at Vandy. So I can't continue to pull for Vandy when the Vols are down? Grow up. I didn't attack you or the Vols. JMO on the worst 1st post ever...I mean think about your first post on a vols fan site as a vosl fan is that at least you can cheer for another team (instate some what rival at that)....more so on the fact that you posted in the cliff notes page......i don't care who you cheer for....bleed whatever, if anything more power to you for putting it out there like a real fan...My wife graduated from UTX and got her masters at A&M (hated every minute of it but she would never say at least I can cheer for A&M....I had to ban her from the A&M v Bama game just because she wanted to cheer for Bammer)

The bad thing is, I think Hubbs and company know they are being misled, too, or at least know that this has become a source war between Chattanooga and Knoxville media.

Volquest and 247 are doomed if Gruden is hired, and I couldn't be happier about it.

It's somewhat sad that the best source of news on the Vols comes from Chattanooga.

I don't think it's Hart/Stoops vs. Boosters/Gruden. I don't think Stoops is involved at all. There's a lot of bad information out there. Which suggests to me that there are very few people who have any idea what is happening. Everyone just needs to sit back and let it unfold.

I wasn't implying that I thought Stoops was involved, you can throw in whatever name you want. Could it be (Coach X)/Hart vs. Boosters/Gruden? I'm just suggesting that possibly Hart has reached some sort of verbal agreement with who he wants to hire as coach and he's ready to pull the trigger on that, but the boosters have an agreement with Gruden and they're ready to pull the trigger on him. I meant it to be a hypothetical question, just for conversation's sake. No big deal. I'm not hung up on the idea, it just crossed my mind.

Just going to throw this out there.. While, you can't just say everything the Knoxville media says is false, I swear everytime this negative way comes it like follow the leader. Hyams starts it, Hubbs follows, and then some national guy will chime in. I'm not saying their right or wrong but if actually watch the flow that's what it looks like to me

If the local guys dont know whats going on, you can rest assured the national guys dont know. HOWEVER, the national guys have lots of credibility at stake when they report something, some of these tweeters or local radio talking heads have very little to risk, because at the end of the day it's all just rumors.

At this point I have heard from a very prominent former member of the AD that was there for decades, a former player, a current players family, and one of the biggest booster-supporters there is (sits with the Haslams usually), that completely confirm what Hubbs reported and said the blame laid far more on Grudens end than with UT.

Believe anything you want, everybody be their own person. I have enough corroboration to draw my conclusion but that is up to each and every one of you to draw yours.

Now will ya'll believe since an OG posted this? Let's move on to good candidates that want to be here!

Many HC in the NFL have been fired from other NFL HC positions.

I almost agree with your list, but I would lose Fisher entirely and replace him with David Shaw, who I think is awesome.

Hey, why not, Peterson is just as much of a pipe dream. More so than Gruden coming back to life.
