3. Negotiations could still be ongoing.

4. We offered everything Gruden asked for and be still said no.

5. Gruden is asking for too much, and Dave Hart made the difficult decision to not meet the terms.

Listen, if Dave Hart thinks the money is too much, I trust him. He's is a very intelligent man and sometimes the right choice is the hardest choice. I'd rather trust his opinion than some ransoms on a message board who probably can't balance their own dang checkbook (myself included).

If you want my opinion, I think things are still moving. If JG is not our next head coach, I believe it was because of his choice, not ours.

False.

Not an OG but I would definitely be pleased with Patterson, Peterson, or Stoops if we don't get Gruden. Not the immediate "wow" factor but, quality coaches that will get UT back on track.

If we end up with one of the other names being kicked around (Fisher, Strong, Smart, Jones, Davis, Fedora, Golden, etc) UT will be wondering in the desert for years to come.

This. Patterson, Peterson, and Stoops are as unlikely as Gruden. Would be pleased with any of them.

The "realistic" names we are hearing are vomit-inducing.

We asked him if he was interested and he said no. The story stops there. Nothing to see here.

That's about as reasonable as it gets. Nothing else can come close to being verified.

...and this kind of circus is what happens when you decide to lone ranger the hiring process without talking to any media. Thanks, Hart. It's been fun. It's been funny. It's also been asinine.

Take it or leave it:

TFP article is pretty much 100% accurate. My source tells me that there might be a butting of heads, but believes this is the part in the process where Hart comes out looking like a hero. He still believes this is happening.

Was also told Thunder is probably Hargis' second source.

If thunder and Jim are his sources and the only hang up is money, then why aren't thunder and Jim solving the problem?

Funny how positive information I have relayed immediately hits cliffs but my posts from this morning are largely ignored lol. Just find it odd but telling. I wanted it bad, very bad. I think it would have brought UT back to prominence overnight. With that said he is not the only person that can do that. My top 5 now are

1. Stoops
2. Gundy
3. Patterson
4. Franklin
5. Strong

Any of those 5 guys will be such vast improvements over what we have been accustomed to I think maybe we need to look at the positive aspects of this situation. Anyone can ***** and moan lol.

With Gruden out...

1. Stoops
2. Patterson
3. Peterson
4. Gundy
5. Bring Dooley back and save $5 million (j/k on this one)

Gruden knew on Wednesday he wasn't taking job, but he respects and loves UT so he didn't want to get into turning them down I'm sure.

I want to remind everyone of something. Dave Hart (contrary to popular believe now) is not stupid. UT was losing close to $3M per game at the end of the season. Speculation, but I'd say close to $10M on the year (Troy, Mizzou, Kentuckyx10, merch). This is not a problem that's going to go away without winning games. Money will not be an object, as Hargis said. You hire Gruden at $5.5M + $4.5M for staff, win games, FULL stadium, donations, merch, easily make money back. Until we start winning games and having 9 win seasons we'll be in huge trouble financially. How many years would it take a Golden/Fedora vs a Gruden?
