3. Negotiations could still be ongoing.
4. We offered everything Gruden asked for and be still said no.
5. Gruden is asking for too much, and Dave Hart made the difficult decision to not meet the terms.
Listen, if Dave Hart thinks the money is too much, I trust him. He's is a very intelligent man and sometimes the right choice is the hardest choice. I'd rather trust his opinion than some ransoms on a message board who probably can't balance their own dang checkbook (myself included).
If you want my opinion, I think things are still moving. If JG is not our next head coach, I believe it was because of his choice, not ours.
Not an OG but I would definitely be pleased with Patterson, Peterson, or Stoops if we don't get Gruden. Not the immediate "wow" factor but, quality coaches that will get UT back on track.
If we end up with one of the other names being kicked around (Fisher, Strong, Smart, Jones, Davis, Fedora, Golden, etc) UT will be wondering in the desert for years to come.
We asked him if he was interested and he said no. The story stops there. Nothing to see here.
Take it or leave it:
TFP article is pretty much 100% accurate. My source tells me that there might be a butting of heads, but believes this is the part in the process where Hart comes out looking like a hero. He still believes this is happening.
Was also told Thunder is probably Hargis' second source.
Funny how positive information I have relayed immediately hits cliffs but my posts from this morning are largely ignored lol. Just find it odd but telling. I wanted it bad, very bad. I think it would have brought UT back to prominence overnight. With that said he is not the only person that can do that. My top 5 now are
1. Stoops
2. Gundy
3. Patterson
4. Franklin
5. Strong
Any of those 5 guys will be such vast improvements over what we have been accustomed to I think maybe we need to look at the positive aspects of this situation. Anyone can ***** and moan lol.
