You guys didn't think it was going to happen on Thread XIII did you? It will be at least thread XV before it's final.

REASONABLE posters initially indicated we would make Gruden have to say no. He obviously said no. Its time for us to move along, muself included.

Funny how positive information I have relayed immediately hits cliffs but my posts from this morning are largely ignored lol. Just find it odd but telling. I wanted it bad, very bad. I think it would have brought UT back to prominence overnight. With that said he is not the only person that can do that. My top 5 now are

1. Stoops
2. Gundy
3. Patterson
4. Franklin
5. Strong

Any of those 5 guys will be such vast improvements over what we have been accustomed to I think maybe we need to look at the positive aspects of this situation. Anyone can ***** and moan lol.

Exactly. Wouldn't that have come up, I don't know, anytime over the past couple of months? That would be such a relatively easy thing to discuss. Things couldn't have gotten so far without that bridge having been crossed already.

Is it possible that Gruden pulled a Gruden and upped the ante at the last moment pissing the AD and Boosters off?

If Gruden does not come to UT it is because he chose not to. It is not because of something Hart would not provide him in the contract.

Why should fans care about them blowing the bank, if that equates to wins and championships? I don't give a flying FUDGE about UT's budget.

I agree. fans in seats, merchandise, great recruits and championships make up for that.

I guess either one of the Oklahoma boys is okay, but I am just..blah.

At a little after 10pm central time, when the story broke out of Memphis about the Browns offer, Gruden was on ESPN by 8:00am the next day. No word from him on national tv today.....hmmmmm.

Hart wants Stoops over Gruden and Boosters want Gruden over Stoops. Fight to the death to get the better spin.

Do you have anything to offer?

3. Negotiations could still be ongoing.

4. We offered everything Gruden asked for and be still said no.

5. Gruden is asking for too much, and Dave Hart made the difficult decision to not meet the terms.

Listen, if Dave Hart thinks the money is too much, I trust him. He's is a very intelligent man and sometimes the right choice is the hardest choice. I'd rather trust his opinion than some ransoms on a message board who probably can't balance their own dang checkbook (myself included).

If you want my opinion, I think things are still moving. If JG is not our next head coach, I believe it was because of his choice, not ours.

I just got a call from my brother who is a jet mechanic at the Louisville, KY airport. He just did a routine safety check on a G-5 private jet that arrived from Knoxville, picked up Charlie strong and flew out 10 minutes ago.
