Are the crickets in the stadium going to pay for their seats in the first 3 home games next year with a Fedora as coach? Austin Peay, Western Kentucky, South Alabama?

Sounds like a thrilling and entertaining set of games. I can't wait to pay hundreds of dollars for tickets and merchandise. I will definitely do this with Larry Fedora at the helm.

Can we just end this and focus on getting a quality, proven coach? I swear we could go out and hire Patterson and you "grudenites" would be all up-in-arms. It's pathetic.

I say screw Gruden and lets put our best foot forward for Patterson or Petersen.

This isn't the only thread on Volnation. We are posting here because we want to discuss Gruden to UT. If you don't want to talk about Gruden, then there are a ton of other threads to follow. Just saying.

Getting more negative confirmations guys. Not happy about it, just as upset as anyone, but at this point I no longer have any information that relates in a positive way that Gruden will be the next HC. I have always been honest in what I hear, and have never said 100% about him coming. I believe there was a deal that as of right now is off the table. Everyone I have talked to today relayed that same thing, including the long term former member of the AD that just two nights ago said he heard Friday and Gruden. Now he is telling me the same thing reported in VQ report. Have also gotten the obligatory "I told ya so" messages from other contacts that have been on the negative side a while now.

I will be here to discuss and listen and am open to about any scenario, just at this point do not look to me for info if you are looking for unbridled positivity without a smidgen of reality. Those have not ever and never will be my posts. What an awful day imo.

Finally got the call I have been waiting for! I can 100% confirm there was a meeting with KPD about security for the PC! No time frame was discussed tho... This is coming from my brother in law who is head of security for KPD and UT.

He also backs up what my other cop buddy said and says hang up is asst coach $$$.

How does your "source", that's a cop, know anything about a hang up with $$$ for assistant coaches?

Negotiating is an art. Gotta wait for the other guy to blink, or make him blink. A lot of things go into negotiating a deal, especially one this big.

I honestly dislike all of those four "still in the mix." Only a few coaches that I would prefer (even to Gruden), and none of them are coming here.

It won't be over until Gruden or the school has an official statement stating that they have moved on. Hargis, Rucker, Hubbs, etc. are only reporting hearsay from "sources." Until otherwise, we're going to be sitting here talking about Gruden possibilities.

All I can think of is generating revenue, no way CBS, ESPN, KNS, VQ, and everyone is wrong and one singular Chattanooga sports editor is right.

I cannot help but wonder if the Memphis leak and Mike and Mike thing hurt our cause, it seemed like it was fragile and that could have set things in the wrong direction.

I'm thinking that if the BIG MONEY boosters really want this to happen, it will. Hart will start feeling the heat real soon and in a week or two this will swing back to Gruden with his demands being met.

That's because the matter is something that could never be proven either way.

I don't know about that. The Paper front paged the story so I don't think the reporter is the only one at TFP who knows the sources and their impeccability.

I'm only saying that I tend to believe the reporter did an accurate job of what he reported and that his sources are directly connected to the players in this saga. jmo.

Everything Hargis is saying lines up with everything I am hearing.

Thank goodness someone has the balls to confront the Knoxville media. Knoxville media=Dave Hart's words.

Hargis=boosters & former players words. Hargis is not some joker. He is being fed info from one of the "Big 5". There are some serious political maneuverings going on.

Dave Hart has never wanted Gruden but knew he had to pursue him. Now he is tying to make it look like he tried to no avail. He half assed it. Period. A third party had the framework in place. Gruden wanted to be here. This falls on Hart.

When you give a guy like Hart too much trust, they screw you. The guy hasn't hired a football coach since East Carolina. It's time to listen to the money and the fans, Dave. Or else retirement will start early for you.

So we had a coach that was over his head and now AD in same boat. Harts future will line up with DD's....SOON
