About 3 weeks ago, the Knoxville media got completely off of Gruden saying that he wasn't a viable option. At that point the AD had strategically leaked a list of ridiculous names of potential candidates that began to appear in emails.

Now here we are and the same media is saying that Gruden isn't a real possibility (and we really mean it this time).

Meanwhile the TSR and other outlets have been doing there level best to bring the conversation away from Gruden.

Simply put, this is the strangest thing I've seen in a while.

Gruden could have brought us back to the top. We can't afford anything less than a stellar hire.

Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Georgia are lightyears ahead of us. Hell, even A&M is way beyond us now, and I don't see that train slowing down. They have very good coaches. Gruden could bring us back up there. We are so far behind now that it's sad.

I dont believe ESPN is going to say anything else unless Gruden is hired. They have already reported on the fact the Gruden denied any involvement with UT (or something like that). I dont think they will report that "Gruden says no to UT".

MOU=memorandum of understanding...used a lot in contract talks, usually a signed document where both parties agree to a specific article etc.

Until Hart and/or Gruden release a statement anything coming out is conjecture. With sources all saying different things this week this door is open until one of the two big guys close it. If I were these media guys I'd be very hesitant saying anything. I know the urge is to 'break' the story but this has gone beyond any story to date on this subject. It's gone beyond trying to overrun the competition in the media to break the news. It's gotten nasty. Not sure how resilient the industry is to recover from this now.
