Not an advocate for Butch Davis, but Davis had too many players on the field for the spike. The refs screwed us out of that one.

IMO the UTAD will NEVER officially go on the record as saying Gruden is out and that somehow his demands were too high for them to meet.

I dont think there is anything UT can say that makes Gruden the bad guy and makes them look like they did all they could.

We will know Gruden isnt coming when someone else is named coach.

Oldvol simply posted that he had recieved a text say 3 and that he hoped it was true...

everyone else took it and ran and said 3pm press conference....was on

JayVols said there was an SEC thing that prohibited a pressor before the SECCG

Slice said still hearing 3 today.... then came back on and said did not look like it

So what is difficult to understand

There will be no afternoon press conference today for a new football coach at the University of Tennessee, nor was Jon Gruden ever presented with any contract or financial details to become the Volunteers' next football coach. So say sources extremely close to UT's search for Derek Dooley's replacement.

Some half-dozen sources have told VolQuest.com this morning that Gruden both declined an offer to meet with UT officials, most notably vice chancellor and director of athletics Dave Hart, this week and that neither side ever got to a point where a financial framework was outlined.

"We reached out to coach Gruden. Coach Gruden after visiting with his family informed us that it was not a move his family wanted to make at this time. He declined to meet with Tennessee. Financial considerations were never discussed," said a University source Friday morning.

The news comes on the heels of a report in Friday's editions of the Chattanooga Times Free Press that alleged Gruden was mulling over an offer and could decide on his own timeframe, a report labeled "irresponsible" by someone familiar with proceedings.

Every so often I send Rucker a random msg on twitter that just says "Soon". He always gets tore up. What kind of media person responds and gets mad at every single troll. "The same guy with two thumbs, This guy Wes Rucker""

From elation to deflation so quickly. By the way I copied the tweets earlier but I still trust the OG's and the guy from Chattanooga. Especially with stuff out there now about how its simply money for assistants. Dave Hart would be crucified if that was the reasoning for not bringing Gruden in
