Im not one who predicted a PC yesterday. Heard rumors, but nothing concrete. Im hoping the others were right.

I think all this disappointing news coming out right before the 30th is the UTAD's way of telling us it isnt happening.

I am at .0001% that there will be a news conference today and very very discouraged that Gruden is coming to UT.

I wont give up hope, but it looks like the Gruden dream is in a vegetative state with very little chance of ever waking up. Soon I fear it will be taken off life support.

Sucks.

The AD needs to address this himself if true. Having hacks like Rucker and Hyams only fuels the fire.

He said the UTFund is planning on meeting with Travis (owner of Smoky Mtn. Knife Works nd UT donor) on Tuesday and that they wouldn't want to have a meeting with him (presumably to solicit money) unless they were going to be able to present the hiring of a new coach... so basically they were saying a coach would be announced before Tuesday.

Basically...Travis did not renew his tickets a while back and has not been donating money for a while... He was telling Ainge that he received an email from the UT fund group that they would like to visit him on Tuesday. They speculated that this means they would be visiting because a coach has been named and they are looking to get Travis to renew... Travis was saying why would they want to visit me if they have not named a coach. They were just speculating...

If Hart doesn't want Gruden but the boosters do, I trust their business judgement on what is an acceptable deal 1000% more than Hart who has been here only about a year and was forced out at FSU.

In situation concerning public rumor-mongering and peoples' jobs, I would lean more toward trusting facts (which we don't have) than people's opinions (i.e. boosters -- people who have a history of getting what they want at all costs). How much history is out there of booster judgment toasting a university? Go watch the ESPN 30-for-30 on SMU. When booster's desires dictate AD policy, we are in for a heck of a ride.

Like I said, I'm just proposing saving judgment until it's informed judgment.

If it's a matter of money, I'm not sure it's Hart's fault. If it's money then blame Cheek or the boosters. We already know that the UTAD has very little money to spend without help.
