Alright.. been holding onto this for a while. I know I'm new, but take it or leave it.
After the loss to Florida, I had a friend at church whose sister (cue people flaming..) used to work in UTAD tell me that some of her old coworkers had been talking. They said that UT was working on making room in the budget for $5 million over 3 years ($15 Mil total) to bring in Jon Gruden. Now, this was the day after Dooley's first loss of the year, but according to her, UT had been working on this a while (Which fits the general timeline of starting talks with JG in the spring).
I laughed at my friend. Told my other friends that he was bullcrapping and making it up. Why would UT be firing Dooley after 1 loss. It didn't add up.
Fastforward to last week where Cheek moves $6 Million a year for three years into the budget ($1 Million more that I originally was told). My mind gets blown. My buddy was right.
So for all the nega-grudes out there, listen up. I know I'm gonna take shots for this because I only have about 35 posts, but here's the deal:
From all of the OG's info and the most recent 'Hart is the Hero' drama unfolding, I believe this thing has been a large scale Dave Hart scheme from the beginning. There have been strings pulled, meetings had, alum like the Haslams and Mannings involved to make it happen.
I personally think this is the most strategic event in UT football history, and Hart will end up being the hero. Jon Gruden will come in, and he will win. UT will come back to national prominence. Saban will have no answer, he'll be second fiddle to the greatest college football coach of all time. That man being, Jon Gruden.
I troll you not.
