Notice how in depth with details M&M went when asking the question? Hell ESPN may have told M&M to do it to take a jab at him for leaving. Who knows.
Don't read anything into it. It won't break on M&M. It will break when Gruden wants it to. I just hope it's SOON!!!

This has been my biggest reason to hold on to hope.

It would have been way better for UT to flat out dismiss the Gruden talk if they had no intention of hiring him.

With that said, they may have an intention to hire him, but cant work out the deal and have to hire someone else.

Sounded like he did his best to side step the question and he quickly changed the subject. Nick Saban: "I WILL NOT BE THE HEAD FOOTBALL COACH AT ALABAMA!!!" YEAH RIGHT! Almost as convincing as Raphael Palmero pointing straight at congress and saying "I DID NOT USE STEROIDS!!!" YEAH RIGHT! Or Jimbo Fisher stating none of his assistants had been contacted for jobs, only to have them bail on him one day later to UK. If ANYTHING...Gruden's comments on M&M actually convinced me that he might in fact be the next coach of our hallowed storied program.

As for ownership in the Browns.....I have no sources, never claimed to be an insider, just kind of a gut feeling. But my gut tells me that Haslam is smart enough to have done his homework while putting this thing together. LOL at anyone thinking Haslam just woke up and put this together without doing any research. JMO, IMO, JMHO, TIFWIW, JUST SAYING......blah blah blah.

Here is the thing that kills me..when you have about 7 NFL teams lining up to kiss your butt and make you their next HC..you don't need any leverage from a college team...any college team..showing interest in you.

if you don't want to coach college ball then just say it! How would being courted by the Vols help you get more money from the Eagles, Chargers, Chiefs, Panthers, Raiders..list goes on. His actions this morning say he doesn't like this attention at all, so end it one way or another.

this is also a good time for Hart to say or do something soon, this has now reached the point of resolution. end it someone!

Agree 100%. Got the same impression. There's more to it. Plus, there's a lot of stuff here that may not be true...Gruden may not have contract in hand, may not have Browns ownership on contract. He did NOT make it clear that he would not coach Vols in 2013, etc and CLEARLY had the opportunity to do so.

I thought the tone was the key. Jon denied; but was not convincing.

Hart could go out and hire an absolutely Grade-A coach, and get nothing but negativity from the fanbase during the offseason.

agreed. this is the 1 point the keeps me with hope for the hire to happen. i just cant believe that Hart would be so dumb as to let this climb to such a fever pitch, if there were no truth to it.

I have never heard a potential coach say....."Ok, you got me. I was trying to keep it a secret, but you were too smart for me to do that. Yes I am going to XXXXXXX school."
It's always a denial before they are ready for the info release.

If Hart somehow screws all of this up, Hamilton will be viewed as 'beloved' by the fan base compared to our feelings on Hart
