No offense to OCI, but after the "Three Amigos" ordeal, I take everything he says with a grain of salt.

Don't you think the 3 amigos thing has been played out enough? Plenty of insiders here have missed on things, why is this one thing people can't seem to let go of?
Knowing what we know of Dooleys recruiting, is it really that hard to believe that he screwed up the 3 Amigos coming here. I have no reason to doubt OCI anymore at this point than all the other insiders.
If they are all wrong then I will eat my words, but if they are right OCI deserves all the credit the others will get.

Ok grillmeister let me put it this way lol

I will be VERY concerned but if no news comes out over the weekend; if none by the time I go to bed Sunday night I will have given up hope as that would invalidate a vast majority of the evidence and information that I view as true. It would take very very credible new info as to why for me to continue believing at that point.

Thanks. Sorry to grill to much but you have been most willing to look at this in a realistic understanding that things can change even get late in the process.

If by Friday afternoon nothing has been leaked that's substantial I will think its over. We are just a few days apart

Watched Lion King with my kids. When Rafiki said, "The King has returned", I thought about Gruden's presser.

The idea that UT admin has the power to quiet the media is pretty ridiculous, but even more ridiculous is the notion that they would even try.

I have worked in the industry for nearly 20 years (including sports media), and I can say for certain that public figures will not say ANYTHING to the media that they don't expect to go public.

I know that there are times that a particular reporter will cut a deal in order to work a future advantage, but the idea that "the media" is being controlled as a whole in order to manage some big PR splash is simply inconceivable.

....at this point if he doesn't get it done UT fans will be after him like villiagers after Frankensteins monster. Torches and all.

Fans, boosters, politicians, doctors, attorneys......

This is the MOST critical hire in UT history and we have a Bama guy making the decision........

Not to mention some of our fellow SEC schools(Florida come to mind) would whine to Slive and he would side with them.

We have an SEC school on ESPN in both football and hoops giving full access. There is no difference in those programs and MNF IMO regarding this subject.

I agree with this. I think the media is just as in the dark as most of us on here and they are trying to grab whatever scraps of info they can....All the while trying to make their shows interesting to drive traffic.

Ainge might be the exception.

They are replaying the Jerry Punch segment from yesterday. I will never get sick of hearing the panic in Jimmy's voice when Punch says he think the coach has already been hired:)

Thanks. I agree about Gruden and recruiting. He is the only one where recruiting will be automatic, IMO. That is the main reason why he is so important. Your top 3 is solid, IMO.

Thanks! I just hold out hope for Gruden. Even if he bolts for the NFL after 3 years or so, the talent level will be at a point where we can take a chance on an up and comer.

Just not now. :)

Dead-on.
