With all of these other names floating around I would just stay with Chaney and save up our money. It is going to be hard to sale this school when your the 4th coach in 6 yrs unless you are Gruden, Saban ,Meyer,Belichick , Spurrier or Manning

Last I knew TN was a state in which they someone could be fired at any time for any thing, would only make sense if hiring was the same way. I do not KNOW this. JMO.

There is a policy but it is at state level. Exemptions are possible and it Does not even apply to all positions. Nothing to see as far as that goes. The timing still seems a little early to me but who knows. Contracts and such.

Just came across a post from Larry that he posted about an hour ago. He said strong, fisher, and golden were the top three for hart. He said he still felt gruden was heading to the nfl

If that's true, guess I will be done with Vol football. Will just watch basketball, and softball.

Hubbs take
I would love an answer from the AD. I have said publicly, I that I think it's in Tennessee's best interest to either hire Gruden this week or put the possibility to bed and move on.

As for why it seems unlikely it depends on what source your talking with. Some say it's money (particularly if he is making as much as Chris Morentsen has indicated). Others say money isn't a big factor. Some say it's control that Gruden wants too much control. But no one can really explain what that means.

Some say that ultimately Gruden wants to coach in the NFL and some close to him think he will be unhappy in the college game.

All the while, Gruden is saying nothing definitive to anyone which has only fueled the speculation and while multiple sources have told us no way he ends up here. I haven't completely slammed the door on it only saying that sources say it's unlikely. Because neither Gruden nor Tennessee will say or indicate anything definitiv

The firing is that way by law bit inside state agencies they tend to have somewhat more strict policies and guidelines they enforce upon themselves.
