Someone said on here, TOS, TSR or one of the many places I frequent that the first sign a deal was made and an announcement pending is when other coaches start taking their names out of the running or begin to deny they were even interested. Apparently, they get wind of a hire before anyone and want to save face.

I was worried until I saw that it was from the KNS - I'd believe a Bleacher Report story before I would a John Adams led KNS article...

I find it interesting that.................

1. Stoops denying interest in our opening
2. Fisher denying interest in our opening

3. Gruden is as quiet as a mouse.

Stoops and Fisher getting ahead of the story, so they don't look like they were sniffing around the Knoxville job since the job is already filled (possibly).

It would look a lot less convincing if we announce Gruden, etc tomorrow then they have to deal with press saying, "would you, did you want to leave for the Tennessee job?"

imo, I wouldn't see Fisher or Stoops leaving for Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky or any other position. Would see that they leave to Tennesse (Jesse Palmer's best coaching job in the country).
