Today it was reported that Governor Haslam said he doesn't have a recommendation on Dooley's replacement and said how much the new coach gets paid shouldn't be up to the governor. So why is this important. Two reasons. First his family is being tied to this hire and secondly and more importantly he knows this is done and people are going to go crazy on the salary (remember not everyone in the state is a UT fan or even a football fan). He as a politician is having to distance himself from the money aspect of this hire, meaning an announcement is forthcoming.

...and in 20 minutes you will change your mind just to pi$$ the naysayers off...20 after that you will target the Grudenites....at least you are consistently predictable

This why I like reading this thread, unique and different perspective. If it is not Gruden, then it also wouldn't take haslam money to hire Golden or the Butch's IMO...

I dont think you understand what you just wrote. People are on edge because the more this goes on, the quicker fans are to riot, especially the ones on VN. Becoming the middle east in here..

Absolutely agree. To make matters worse for Hart will be the perception if he doesn't land Gruden. The fan base will be pi$$ed because of that alone. It will only add fuel to the fire that he apprently is fiddling at a basketball game while the Gruden dream is burning to the ground around him.

If he knows he is not getting Gruden, I will give him this. He is one cocky mofo.

I didnt say i didnt believe him. Since it wasnt a first hand conversation, i was asking if someone knows him could they clarify if he was saying he believes this or was told 100% that this is the case by someone he trusts. I stated that i already believe it. Im just hoping he has heard it for sure

Not really. Timeline has changed too often to be consistent. I think Zehr and Maja hit the nail on the head. Overzealous boosters talking their mouths off got this thing going.

Stick it out until Saturday.
I think Hart will speak one way or another by then and the rest of the story will be final.
