BabyVol on TOS said if he haf to guess it would be the 30th. LWS has even said he respects his opinion

This makes sense, in form of a press release, I know Deerpark said that their was an All-SEC AD meeting from the 29th to the 1st of Dec. However, why couldn't a press release come out with an official PC early the next week?

I just want to take the time to wish all of my fellow Grudenites this:

Ok..carry on!

Right back at ya Smokey.

The 30th announcement deal is making a lot of sense to me. This is a great PR/recruiting move for the team and also lets Gruden assemble his remaining staff before the new year, so they can be ready for January visits...

Anyone answer. Does the official recruiting visit season not begin on 11/25? Thats all Im saying...only five days behind the 8 ball if so...but not really...know what I mean?

This. ESPN will break this story, not Knoxville media. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if those money hungry clowns set up a "The Decision" type of show for Gruden to announce on air.

Oooo I hope not. My guess is they would only air it if they knew that Gruden was picking to stay with them at ESPN.

Somebody called in and said the exact same thing a minute before you posted that.

I listen on my 1.9 mile commute to work and when I am running around but only listen to 99.1, mainly because thats the only channel I know lol. Not a big talk radio guy.

I don't know. There was a quote on here from Peyton yesterday that said "mort knows your traded before you know your traded".

I know Mort said that no contract had been offered, but it was in the context of Arkansas. He is from Arkansas.

A person could reasonably think, based on precisely what he said, that it was a blanket statement, but it was clearly not meant that way to my ears.

Is he not allowed to announce on MNF due to some NCAA rule?

Not sure. Just saying I think the first "official" news agency to "officially" announce Gruden will be ESPN. "joe schad/Chris mortensen report that Jon Gruden will be announced as head coach at the university of Tennessee."

Here is a question you have always liked. Is Mort a smokescreen for ESPN?

I just can't wait to watch the presser.

I don't care who breaks the news first.

Why have those connected to the money backers been so open to our insiders??

If that's where their info is coming from.

I just don't understand why some of the OG's have gone underground. Be careful not to step in the puddles of sarcasm!

I think we can rest easy in knowing it wont be a less than exciting hire like Golden. The AD, Cheek, etc have been talking big and I dont think that the talk and the pub with the $$$ announcement yesterday, allows a scenario for a mediocre hire. This is different than 08 and 09 in that facilities are better, patience is thinner, and the school has publicly made a financial commitment. Also, we dont have an AD saying that our job isnt desirable, like we did a few years ago. We have time, facilities, and money....we will get Gruden or another huge name. No way after all the talk, can Hart roll out an Al Golden in a few weeks. Wont happen
